2011 volvo d13 with 467000 miles rpm goes up and down loose power when that happen and no check engine light on i have taken to the volvo dealer in oakland tec they can't figure it out can someone help please

how did you know they were bad did you get code or what was the symptom

Volvo can suckered a fat one! If ever in De rate just remember unplug the vehicle speed sensor located at the output shaft on the tranny above the yoke. Can go as fast as u want as far as u need to.

I drive a 2014 volve 780 with 500 volve motor with ishift trans only has 8500 miles on it and headed back to dealer service again for the fifth time in a month replaced dozer valve, in and out nock sensor, oil senser and replaced the acm module, rather have the 2007 volve back with the 515 cummins in it never had a problem.

Have tit off bottom of plastic reservoir where sensor plugs into like a plastic plug into a plastic four way split tube. Which has a clamp around hold in sensor into four way split tube. Today has started leaking pretty good. Anyone know if where this sensor plugs in is replaceable like a cap? It appears to possibly be . But not sure just based on appearance. Hoping not to be forced to replace entire tank plus don't have a clue as to replacement cost of tank. But being as its a Volvo figure it will be pricey. Any comments or experience with this particular problem shared would be appreciated very much. Thank you

my 2011 Volvo has 462k on it I have spent $7500.00 on it so far this year injector s and cups cac lines and shuch now it needs a new turbo acccuator and #8 nox sensor its had 7 replaced on it it says it needs to regen and you tell it to do a parked regen it wount conditions not met thes trucks r just junk. and this is my 3rd Volvo. I owe so much on it I caint trade it off .I,m just fxxxxx . don't buy a Volvo with a Volvo motor get the cummins

Yeah those were bad years. Considering most truck companies took the fine to build illegal trucks. Say what you want the new ones are great. I've seen a few lemon's but I see way more freightliners on the side of the highway. I fix everything on these trucks before you get it. If I find a problem such as engine noise transmission slipping you won't get your truck on time. We've fixed a lot of the bugs so its not as many. Egr is now scr won't go bad 10g for a new one. Make sure the flexpipe from the turbo to it is slightly downhill or eventually it will burn holes in your exhaust. We have a lot of hands on those trucks its my job to make sure they did the job right. You want a Mexican built truck get a freightliner. All Volvo's are built in the u.s. Va to be exact. Our trucks we ship to Mexico don't have emissions they are stronger. 2015 model is a sharp ride. I'm sorry about the problems you've had makes me sick to hear it. New trucks are unreal good. Come up to the test track and see for yourself. Opens September 2014. At nrv plant Dublin va.

My advice is to stay away from Volvos. I would never buy one again and would highly recommend anyone considering one to think again. They spend more time in the shop than on the road.

You do not want a D13. Dont look at the price of the unit and if they try to give you one do not accept it. The engines with the new pollution control systems are trouble. Sensors keep going bad. I have had to replace Differential pressure sensors, NOX sensors, EGR temp, oil pressure, DEF sprayers,#7 injector, EGR Cooler and new fuel injectors. Cummins seems to be holding up better, but the EGR coolers keep going bad and the air compressor heads are apt to get cabon on them.

When the pollution control system fails - and it does all the time - the truck will go into derate (SCR) and slow you down to five miles an hour. When that happens you are up the creek... There is no way to clear the SCR without a computer equipped with Premium Tech. Tool.

Volvo Always had brass/Copper Cups in D12 as well, Always got Stainless ones as replacement as well as other engines, the cups going out is not the quality of the materials but some other issue that I have yet to resolve, Usually every 300000 miles you have to replace them but for a modern engine it is the best considering problems new ISX are having and for a volvo engine power is excellent
