First off thank you for all you have done for our country and your fellow man. Second this kinda of thing is a travesty and I've seen it happen several times. I am a real felon and have been to prison 4 times starting in 1995 to 2007. The men I know that where jailed unlawfully sued for so much money they don't need to work any more. I hope to God you sue these low life scum for what they did to you and the time they took away from you. It's a shame our government doesn't care about it's people and promote positive change for the ones that try for a positive change. They want us down so they can continue to kick us. I've haven't been convicted on anything since 2005 and did my last term in 2007 for 8 months. I haven't been able
to find a job since ive been out even though I have completed multiple programs to better myself. It feels like they want people on welfare and food stamps. Like I said, I hope you stick it to them really good and make them pay for what they have done to you.

I have seen several LARGE carriers say YES we except Felony, Accidents....anything...they have no drivers so NOW they have lowered their standards and 2Months experience is accepted...
But mostly they are looking for LOW WAGE Mexican immigrunts....a mexican in every truck is their new goal....no speeky englaase....no problemo..
A life of Crime would actuallybe a better choice than remaining in trucking....lol.

Why did they not let you go when it was confirmed that you were who you said you were? They can hold you for 48 hours to investigate, but they should have confirmed your ID by then. Every military vet has their fingerprins on file, that would have confirmed who you were. What did your lawyer say?

Please don't come to these sites and post inaccurate legal information. There really are people with past convictions trying like crazy to find work, especially now in this recession it can be a demoralizing and depressing affair. Being a felon is no longer an "excuse" or a "reason" for not being employed, it's a REASON. I went to the government web site and copied article 391.15....don't see anything about being disqualified for having an assault with a knife or gun......here it is.........couldn't post it all but it goes on to talk about the suspension times for things such as texting and cell phone use.

§ 391.15Disqualification of drivers.
(a) General. A driver who is disqualified shall not drive a commercial motor vehicle. A motor carrier shall not require or permit a driver who is disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle.
(b) Disqualification for loss of driving privileges.(1) A driver is disqualified for the duration of the driver's loss of his/her privilege to operate a commercial motor vehicle on public highways, either temporarily or permanently, by reason of the revocation, suspension, withdrawal, or denial of an operator's license, permit, or privilege, until that operator's license, permit, or privilege is restored by the authority that revoked, suspended, withdrew, or denied it.
(2) A driver who receives a notice that his/her license, permit, or privilege to operate a commercial motor vehicle has been revoked, suspended, or withdrawn shall notify the motor carrier that employs him/her of the contents of the notice before the end of the business day following the day the driver received it.
(c) Disqualification for criminal and other offenses—(1) General rule. A driver who is convicted of (or forfeits bond or collateral upon a charge of) a disqualifying offense specified in paragraph (c)(2) of this section is disqualified for the period of time specified in paragraph (c)(3) of this section, if—
(i) The offense was committed during on-duty time as defined in §395.2(a) of this subchapter or as otherwise specified; and
(ii) The driver is employed by a motor carrier or is engaged in activities that are in furtherance of a commercial enterprise in interstate, intrastate, or foreign commerce;
(2) Disqualifying offenses. The following offenses are disqualifying offenses:
(i) Driving a commercial motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. This shall include:
(A) Driving a commercial motor vehicle while the person's alcohol concentration is 0.04 percent or more;
(B) Driving under the influence of alcohol, as prescribed by State law; or
(C) Refusal to undergo such testing as is required by any State or jurisdiction in the enforcement of § 391.15(c)(2)(i)(A) or (B), or § 392.5(a)(2).
(ii) Driving a commercial motor vehicle under the influence of a 21 CFR 1308.11 Schedule I identified controlled substance, an amphetamine, a narcotic drug, a formulation of an amphetamine, or a derivative of a narcotic drug;
(iii) Transportation, possession, or unlawful use of a 21 CFR 1308.11 Schedule I identified controlled substance, amphetamines, narcotic drugs, formulations of an amphetamine, or derivatives of narcotic drugs while the driver is on duty, as the term on-duty time is defined in § 395.2 of this subchapter;
(iv) Leaving the scene of an accident while operating a commercial motor vehicle; or
(v) A felony involving the use of a commercial motor vehicle.

Hey , first off I got an F5 Felony in Ohio for B&E on an Abandoned House.this was 9/14/2007 . Now just over 5 years. Then another DFelony in Indiana, for Attempted Theft. Me and my 7 and 9 year d kids were riding. Bikes on privet property that had some theft in the past. So I was convicted of another Felony. That was 8/2009 ? But now I have 2 FELONY'S. and boy it's hell finding A job. There right Go for the Mom &Pop outfits . I had A Job Hulling for the Harviest of Corn and Soy.. Just 2 1/5 months of Hopper work.@$10.00 an Hour. The job ended but I was working A 2x Felon . But you have to Keep to the SMALL COMP. And keep your nose to theGrind and out of trouble. There is Hope for US Felon's it's just limited the big companies won't fit for us or them. I'd like info on buying my own Truck and hull as A Broker? Any info as to that???

I've had some bad luck while training as a truck driver with Swift. Made a left turn knocked down a stop sign, no police came, no injuries, and no damage to the company truck, Second a scratch on the front bumper on a truck stop, and third, damage of asphalt during a turn around.
Now i can't get a job driving at all, because Swift reported these incidents on my Dat report.
What can i do to get a job driving trucks?

I just went to skyway today to get training, its gonna cost me $1900, I wanna do thhis for myself, my wife, and our 2 little boys.. Ive been thinking alot about the future, im 24yrs old.. In 2006 when I was 18, I got a dui and "felony evadeing arrest" , which means I didnt pull over right away.. I can get it expunged off my record now, because its a Wobbler, meaning I didnt go to prison and/or it wasnt a serious felony.. "DO I HAVE A FUTURE IN TRUCKING?" Ps. Besides that I have 2redlight tickets and 1 speeding ticket..:(

lets think out the box , if the powers to be wont hire you (All) as an individual then lets get the best of you to form our own company.I have run my own MC# in past but could not get past all the levels of growing and hiring running a straight business. some of the big guys have skeletons in closets i know for a fact.we sign a packed not to steal our freight all employees are % owners some with direct desion making powers.work this out keep insurance cost low, get federal bonds for insurance,brain storm, anyone breaks the code gets free kung fu lesson with a per- signed injury waver...we all been there before.cons with good credit can get start up capital.and so on millions of us out there, form a web site or goto meeting site to talk about it. doneinn1@gmail.com i did safes 20 years ago, medical pot 1.5 ago,made at that one guilty on safes not medical one though..10 years in strip club biz
