I am not surprised at all, because I know what happened at Arrow had nothing to do with Obama, the government or anyone outside of Arrow. It was poor ownership of a trucking company that has been on a downward spiral since daddy Jim died. The bank called the note because they were tired of throwing good money at a bad company. Every time anyone stood up to Doug and said things must change in order for Arrow to survive, Doug made sure that person changed employers. I am sorry for the drivers stranded on the road no one deserves to be treated that way, but if you were in the Tulsa office and are surprised by what happened then your elevator must not go all the way to the top floor.
Everyone says "I know" but never how they know. Do you really know that the demise of the company had nothing to do with the ability of the company to refinance a loan? Or that it could be related to a called loan? Or that a credit line was canceled? Do you? Or are you speculating? My whole point for posting is to put a dent in all of the speculation because it helps nobody. It makes a villian out of management and it makes the drivers look stupid for not seeing the writing on the wall. Wait for the truth to come out and then comment. I guess that is probably asking too much.

'Someone that knows' wants to blame a bank for this? What if it was that a bank would not continue a line of credit or didn't give Arrow more money? You are going to blame the final straw for all the piss poor management straws that finally broke the camels back? And then you want to make everyone feel that if this was so matter of fact then the drivers are stupid? Your stupid and quit thinking you know all that.

Someone that knows,

I think you have been misled by Carol. If I were you, and I'm glad I'm not associated with the Pielstickers, I'd be quiet and let those that are frustrated just speak out and get it out. Go play some bridge.

Hey SOMEONE THAT KNOWS, the etiology of the demise of Arrow may be speculation, or it may not. However, what IS certain, is that Arrow heartlessly stranded hundred of drivers, without conscience or concern for their well being or safety. And this I KNOW!
I used to work for that scumbag, shit doling company, and I saw incrementally, the downhill slide, and the various causations of their demise. And many of the previous posts stated things correctly in my estimation.
Issuing checks that bounce, deliberately, is a crime. I hope that that asshole gets prosecuted.
Dougie is a criminal, plain and simple.

I know there are a lot of bitter and hurt feelings right now among the Employees as well as wondering where your next check will come from... Christmas is upon you and no job and probably no money or very little money.. no health insurance etc at this point...But I am here to tell you that life goes on... and life will get better... it won't be immediate but it will get better...and what happens with arrow and your money owed to you will happen.. it isn't worth having heart attacks over or ulcers or suicide...If you need help dealing with this, get counseling please... I know I went thru the Hale Halsell bankruptcy .... I worked for them almost 5 months short of 35 years... I have been there and done that...Please, get help with you immediate needs... unemployment... food stamps... a food pantry somewhere... free lunches for kids... and slowly life will get better...

my husband has a load that is worth thousands of dollars and was only to get paid .34 a mile does that sound right to you.
now he is out of gas at least hes home at the good grace of other drivers (from other reputable companies that saw him) along the road gave him money for fuel. THANK YOU TO YOU ALL ME AND OUR 3 KIDS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING GET HIM HOME. now getting treatened by freightliner to return truck all we wanted was for him and his personal belongings to come home. they can have the truck i dont care. they will have to come and get it its out of gas of course. but its in my back yard. they can have the piece of sh**. i almost took my truck before work this morning and ramed it but didnt want to hurt my truck. i saw the ARROW symbol on top and got sick to my stomach.
tomarrow is to be payday we will see how much more they will screw us.
i am in nashville if there are any drivers here needing help i will do what i can.
I hope you didn't take my comment as a slight except toward the company itself. My point was Arrow didn't have freight for their trucks, even when freight was available, and it's part of why they failed.

My best wishes for your family and bless you for trying to help.

All i can say is that taking a truck that doesn't belong to you is theft... and it doesn't belong to Arrow either. I promise that noone in the Pielsticker family wanted this to happen and they are truly devastated about this whole ordeal. I hope and pray that everyone makes it home safe and in time for Christmas. I know that Arrow has provided bus tickets home for everyone on the road and if they would have known it would happen this soon they would have told everyone to drive home asap. I know they have spent countless hours in meetings trying to save the company and not cause any of the employees heartache. One thing that everyone needs to remember is that not only are all the employees out of a job but so is Doug and the executives that work there. They are people just like everyone else.
And to all the people who insulted the Pielsticker family by bringing up a family member who died in a devastating accident, you need to think about what you said and how it would hurt you so terribly if that would have been said about one of your family members. The Pielstickers are the most generous and giving family I have ever met. They truly would not have wanted this to happen and are just as devastated as every one else.
While everyone thinks that Doug is a spoiled brat, what they don't realize is that he was there when the business got started for Jimmy, and he was given the responsibility of running the business after Jimmy's tragic death. He may not have been ready but he took it on whole heartedly and did the best job he could. Doug is not to blame here, but someone else is.
People talk down on Doug for purchasing expensive cars and high priced items, but can any of you say that you wouldn't do the same if you had the money and were able to? A sign of maturity is when you can take yourself out of your position and put yourself in someone else's shoes.
These death threats are ridiculous. Doug is an amazing person with a family and has done his best in life and to tear him down like he is the one to blame is just plane cold hearted and irrational. While everyone is praying for the people who are stranded they might take into consideration the Pielsticker family and their hard times as well.
For all who have left encouraging words and help I thank you. For you see what is really the tragedy here and what really needs to be done.
Okay Doug, we forgive you.
