I have worked with Mexican workers who could work for way less than I could afford to do. They also drove 5-6 guys in a Toyota pickup to get to work and all lived in the same rental.
When I inquired how they could afford to work for such low wages they told me they would mail most of their earnings back to their families in Mexico where American dollars were worth more and so it was worth it to them. Then they too would head back down to Mexico after the work season would end...
So I believe if they had to live up here they would have to work for more money since the cost of living in the U.S. is greater than living in Mexico.
Kind of made me think, " I wish I could go somewhere where the money that I earned could last me longer." But I was born in America and want to be able to live and work in my own country as well." Yeah I would do the same if I was born in Mexico, I don't blame them doing what they must do to survive as well.
But we don't have a nearby country we can head to for better paying wages and reap the same kind of benefits from it, as they were able to do.

Use phony IDs, a new set yearly.

File taxes at year's end. Nine dependents declared maximized EIC (earned income credit). Ilegal receives several thousand dollars of EIC, money taken from you and handed to illegal.

Fake ID used and with new false ID obtained for the new year makes it very hard if not impossible to track down the illegal alien.

Phony ID also allows the illegal to use hospital emergency room for all their health care needs with no way for the hospital to track them down and make them pay.

Citizens pay for the health care of MILLIONS of illegals via higher health insurance costs and for those without insurance higher fees when paying with cash. That's one reason what used to be a $50 doctor/hospital bill is now $500 or more dollars.

In Los Angeles county fully two-thirds of ALL births are two illegal aliens. You and I are paying for that cost.

Billions of dollars yearly it costs the citizens to support those who are competing with us for jobs, housing and health care.

A large percentage of jail and prison inmates are illegals.

One study estimated that somewhere between 12 and 25 citizens die daily by the actions of illegals. Car accidents, assaults, etc.....

No one knows how many are harmed daily by illegals that do not result in death but a Web search reveals a HUGE number of illegal-performed rapes, robberies, a host of crimes.

Hey, in Minnesota, they all come to a 4 way stop, and everyone just sits there. They will wait all day for someone to move. No one knows who got there first, but no one will want to go out of turn, so they all just wait. I have never heard a Minnesotan curse at the slow drivers, and the slow drivers are all over the place.(Courteous to a fault.) Yes, the roads are hard to navigate because there are lakes everywhere, but its a nice scenic drive, even if you can't find where you are going.

The diffrence between then and now? easy my family came here legally, notice that word legally. my grand parents, became legal American Citizens, wow what a concept come here legally. we did not sneak across the border illegally, they didn't refuse to adapt to society, they did not refuse to learn the language. they did not work illegally and refuse to pay yearly income taxes. they did not pumpout kids like pez so they can use them as anchor babies.......but hey other then that no diffrence. and by the way I am proud to be Irish.

But as for the actual topic, you know, what this thread is suspose to be about. pay close attn to what was written, the two companies listed were suspose to be model companies that the program was using as thier dog and pony show. look at D.O.T.'S own failure and out of service rates for those companies, any American company that had that many major violations would have thier dicks nailed to a board untill D.O.T. did a total company safety records audit. but Bush is Illegally pushing and forcing this program forward, even after congress cut off all funding and ordered that no funding be pulled from other programs to finance it. but Bush still is illegally running the program. that grasshopper is the problem
