Jevic wasnt much of a Trucking company anyway. They had a lot of employees but there was A LOT of internal issues going on there that kept their driver turnover rate HIGH. I worked for them for a year as a regional driver many years ago and can attest to the fact that most of the Northeast regional drivers worked while half asleep because of being way overworked and stressed out.I had to quit for fear of getting in an accident because of constant 12 to 14+ hour shifts being pushed on me without a choice. Many other problems I couldint deal with and I was a driver with 12 years experience under my belt. I think that too many drivers coming and leaving the company and the costs of recruiting and training played a BIG roll in this company folding.

Yeah that will make the 1500 people and there families feel much better, "it wasn't much of a trucking company anyway", only existed 27 years with many drivers there for 15+ years, the trucking industry has a high turnover rate as a whole, truckers always think there is something better somewhere else.

Jevic was the BEST OF THE BEST! Jevic itself is not at fault for this closure. Sun Capital who owned Jevic are the bad guys here. Contracts were cancelled and they stripped the company of everything. Beware if your company gets bought by Sun Capital Partners, rumor has it they are a liquidation company. Good luck to all the employees looking for another job.

I had worked for Jevic and met Dave Gorman. I have been in the transportation industry for over 20 years. Jevic was poorly managed lacking qualified leadership.
Neither Dave or Tim were qualified to run a train around a christmas tree. Let alone a trucking company.
Dave Gorman was known for his lack of integrity. Simply... he often lied.
Our prayers are with the employees now questioning how to support thier families.

I worked for Jevic till the end, Dave, Tim & all the top management went to work the next day, after lying to customers & employees & anyone else who would believe them...they got theirs & we got the shaft...as usual...they screw it up ...we get the blame...this failure was by design...why else spend Millions on consultants who couldn't advise their way to the toilet...

Way to tell it Mr. Mike ... I agree w/ your assesment, but that's capitalism, similar to Rock n Roll, and I like it. I can't help it, I am filthy rich and I like it.
