Ouch!... that’s what we need, a company driver telling and independent he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I do agree the protest has had some positive effects but it is not the end all to a long list of problems facing the trucking industry. I do support the effort. The industry has gotten some well deserved attention because of the protest, mostly regarding the price of fuel, but there are other issues just as important.

Just a couple:$10,000 bond for brokers needs to be increased so the carrier has a better chance of collecting before bond money runs out. Time to pay for all brokers/shippers should be mandatory 15 days from date of delivery. 100% of all fuel surcharges should go directly to carrier as he is the one purchasing the fuel. And the list goes on……..

Sorry if a successful career move upsets you. Going from $40,000 to $56000 in one year with full benefits and less hours is a good career move.
Your the one who called all truckers stupid. Some are, the morons that keep holding onto a dream after it turns into a nightmare, or is it you made your own nightmare.
See what I'm trying to tell you.......... moron?

BTW The 16000 a year jump was years ago. It's now 82,000 w/benefits including retirement.

Obama hasn't said he would do anything regarding fuel prices, yet. The fuel tax holiday is a joke. Another swipe of the credit card that has no limit. when will people realize there is going to have to be a time of adjustment. Pay the Piper. The war has cost billions if not trillions by the time it is done. When Bush took office oil was at $27.39 a barrel. It is his policies that have created this free for all. They gave the oil companies tax breaks so they would invest in their own infrastructure, ya that worked right?
A speech from the President telling the Oil companies to stop this profit taking orgy and give the world a break would accomplish a lot(unless they think he's a joke like over 70% of Americans do) But he doesn't want to offend his buddies. I can't wait till a Democratic Administration gets a chance to look at the energy task force Cheney had(he won't be able to destroy all the records).
There will be no break for anyone until the oil companies are sated.
The speculators are having a field day. One of the big investment firms stated oil will reach $200.00 a barrel within a few years. They are fueling their own profits by spreading the bull.

The cost of fuel is NOT going to come down, do you think the oil companies that are raking in the money from us is going to settle for any thing less?,,,,aw no!
The cost of frieght is the numbers game we have to resort too now, and thus it's going to reflect we are "the bad truck drivers", it does not look good either way you look at it!
It looks like we are the culprits that are going to get the blame for the cost of everything we deliver to go up on prices, it's coming to that soon, and thats how the politicians want it to look like, we only drive to survive, and to bring back the respect that we ALL had at one time, but this one is the big one, that will hurt us all!We
We all need to get together in some manner to let the public people know how we feel, but I just do not know how to go about it, without causing a problem, or any type of disturbance that would make all the BIG RIG OPERATORS look like the bad people?,,,,,Please help, I have not one idea as to make this problem a better situation, or any ideas to resolving this major delima?
Oil companies make $.08/gallon.

Finally someone stumbled on the truth, even though the rest of their statement is bandwagon mimicry.
The SPECULATORS are having a field day. The SPECULATORS are the ones driving the price up.
True, supply and demand are a large factor, but it isn't the fault of the companies they aren't allowed to expand. The oil is there for the taking. Getting the dems to allow expansion to increase supply is the problem and the SPECULATORS thrive on this.
Write to the people that need to be written to.
Call the people that need to be called.
Remind these yo-yos that you vote, and if you're not registered, get registered. If you don't vote, don't bitch...and if you do bitch, bitch to the right people. They really do want to be re-elected. It's easy to blame the wrong people, and in the "United States of the Easily Offended" the targets are often the ones that have nothing to do with the problem.
Don't just listen to your neighbor. He or she more than likely doesn't know any more than you do. Educate your self and put your knowledge and energy to work in the right direction.

I have and it varies. But no more than .10. That is at the pump. The ones who make the most are the refiners.BP is making a profit of .30 per gallon on oil it refines.Up from .17.
I won't make you look it up I'll give you the link.
You are just repeating stuff you've heard without sourcing your information. Also do you remember the tax breaks the republicans gave the oil companies to assist them to better their infrastructure(refineries). They used much of that tax break to buy stock and bolster their stock holdings.

This is a link from 2007. So considering the new record profits I suspect the profits per barrel are higher.

Your being told what to think. Look it up for yourself. You find sources that are not propaganda when you look in the right places.
