Former Dream Inn will be the Dream Inn again - Santa Cruz Sentinel

The name that has eluded the city's most visible hotel for the past decade will return.

I thought they weren't allowed to use that name because somebody else had the rights to it? This article seems a little short, I could have used more of an explanation. We all still call it the Dream Inn but if it was that easy, wouldn't they have changed it back a long time ago?
