Why go back..In the many years there not many were good,(strikes, recession, 9-11, bk) etc.You believe that if the techs had stayed with iam that they would have kept their jobs. The result would have been the same.SCABAIR was hell bent on outsourcing, as was the industry trend. This started in the mid 90's when the whales went to China. The outsource language was the same in both AMFA and the iam. The difference being with the iam they could outsource 100%. AMFA put a pct that was allowed and that kept jobs till the last day. You are one nutcase away from being unemployed. It is no way to live your life. Enjoy the highs because you know when the lows hit you will be living from hour to hour. The real question is why did you guys retire? You could have kept your recall rights. Instead of spending the last 10-15 years of your best wage earning years complaining about the bad deal you got. There are guys that didn't cross working for the D now. They were the smarter ones. You don't hear much about the union from them. The ones I've talked to said joining AMFA was the biggest mistake they ever made.
I am in a better place, self employed with a successful business. In the middle of a second company producing several product ideas. The first one is projected to sell over a million units..I still don't want an acft accident or a SCAB to know it is okay, that is why I come here for a couple of minutes every once in a while..
