Virgin also has great service. Last year, when I flew to England with my family and my 3 1/2 year old daughter for my grandmother's funeral, the flight attendants on VA were fantasic. My daughter required a gluten-free meal, which we were able to ordered ahead of time from their website. Customer service as Virgin was great and my daughter still refers to the plane as the "flying lady" due to the 1940's style pin-up girl on the front of the plane. If you need to go, I highly recommend Virgin for a flight to England.

I come here (Taiwan) twice a year for about 6 years. Always have flown NWA. great prices, fair service, but feels like a flying cattle carrier. After the strike service plumeted. Every flight gets worse, and worse. Still the cheapest around, I stuck with them. Now since the merge their fairs have doubled. This time I had to fly JAL becouse I just can't afford paying over $1200. I always buy US products, and this decision really hurt me. I flew here for less than half the NWA price ($1500). They were soi easy to book with, great customer service. The flight here was like no other. personal TV, with a wide veriety of programs, big comfortable seats, and a staff that actually seemed happy to serve.

I would fly any American carrier again before I would even consider Air India. Their planes are fithy. The service is horrible. The food is scary. It made me want to kiss the ground when we landed in NYC. It was worse than a cattle call. The only possitive was the flight attendant uniforms were cool.

American, United and U.S. Air all serve major cities but so does Amtrak. Trip will take longer buttraveling by rail you will avoid airport hassle of homeland security body and baggage checks and expensive cab rides to and from remote airports. Also, Amtrak doesn't have baggage charges.

Well, American, UAL and US Airways came out first in something this year. Worst food and least comfortable seats. Thank god these airlines gave their management retention bonus's.

travelled with us airways, Ireland to Philidelphia and on to Vegas, from there to Tampa and home to Ireland.Transatlantic flights were brutal, old planes, horrible seats, entertainment, old hanging monitors, arrogant staff and being born in the forties, thought, that I would never have to enjure eating such muck that was served,it was sheer rubbish. To our supprise the internal flights were okay as they used more modern planes Airbus. This leaves me to believe that that they think they can treat us travelling between Ireland and the USA,as 3rd world and can be treated as such.US airways can take it as a fact that I will never put a foot on their property.

yes I enjoy dragging my
pillow, blanket, food, luggage, and video entertainment
and ENJOY being charged to
make a reservation by phone sit in an aisle seat take a flight that does not arrive on time sit in a very cramped seat with no leg room get accosted by TSA security throwing out my tube of toothpaste and hand lotion.
and on top of it subject to an additional charge if I have to change my reservation because of a family emergency.
Flying is attrocious for the ordinary traveler.

Then drive moron! Jeez if the $99.00 base fare isnt enough, then im sorry but airlines can't pay YOU to fly. Fuel costs money my friend. Drive and tell us what your fuel bill will be from LA to NYC. Stop complaining and deal with it or Just Drive! Stop complaining and deal with it or Just Drive! <quoted text> They did not complain about the cost of the fare - just everything else to do with flying. Not practical to drive coast-to-coast, but if you can drive to your destination in under 6 or 7 hours, then you're better off driving and forget dealing with air travel hassles – I’d rather sit in traffic than deal with the TSA.

For one they do not have to pay the exhorbanat taxes to support the US military establishment that protects them or the FAA which almost always becomes involved when there is a crash no matter where it is. The American wanted cheap, and more cheap. Now you all got it. So be happy, you all won.
