Is new Barbie a he? Media labels doll a drag queen

There are 48 comments on the The Campbell Reporter story from Aug 22, 2012, titled Is new Barbie a he? Media labels doll a drag queen. In it, The Campbell Reporter reports that:

The Blond Diamond Barbie, which is available for purchase only on Mattel's website, is widely being referred to in the press and social media as "Drag Queen Barbie." The reason? Her glittery, flamboyant outfit was designed by a two-man fashion team, known as The Blonds, one of whom is drag queen enthusiast Phillipe Blond.

Actually, this doll, theoretically speaking, already has one. But if Barbie wants to become Bobby, I guess that will help.
If Barbie becomes Bobby then they will come out with Bobby Dolls oh that is so funny!!!

I expect the next one will be a pregnant Barbie. It will come with a pamphlet about birth-control.

...and another pamphlet with drawings of HOW she got pregnant. Endiing with "You can, too. It's your CHOICE!"

Question - in the Christmas song "Deck The Halls" there is a line that goes "Don we now our Gay attire", is that directed to drag queens?

I've wondered that. I think don was short for adorn and gay apparel means bright, festive colors. Back then, gay meant bright or happy. It was hard to wash things and clothes were hard to come by, so the lighter colors were only worn on special occasions when they wouldn't get messed up.

Unlike transsexualism, or even transgenderism, gayness requires no special clothes. No surgery nor pills are needed for being gay either.

Still, the idea of gay apparel is quite hillarious.

I remember an old cartoon in a magazine that had a man putting on womens clothes while singing "don, we now, our gay apparel". Just one of those things that makes you go "hmm"?

Yes it does. And something funny is that prostitutes were the first to use the term gay in a sexual context. I didn't know that, but some old posters highlight that usage.
