One commenter, Ancilla Tilia, quipped: "Finally! Drag Queen Barbie. Because boys can be anatomically incorrect girls, too." "Anatomically incorrect girls?!" Interesting euphemism.

Maybe they need to release a postop transsexual doll which accurately reflects the typical life. Comes with hormones, surgical papers, low key clothes as to discourage sexual attention, bigoted cops, street bigots outside her race who accuse her of being a man while trying to rape or exploit her, and discrimination. I feel that men in drag harm and trivialize those who need hormones and surgery to be fully who they are.

I know this will sound racist to some, and I apologize in advance. Mattel needs to produce a Black guy. Think about it. Have you ever undressed Ken and noticed nothing was down there? How do you think that makes Barbie feel? Maybe a doll of a Black gentlemen will actually have something down there. Yes, I know that is stereotype. Not that it matters I guess, since Barbie would still have no place to put it. Still, with the way trends are these days, I am surprised there isn't a Black guy doll for Barbie to go out with, unless of course she is racist. I remember the fiasco where a toy manufacturer put a White doll on sale and not a Black doll in the same collection. That was just an honest mistake, but it caused an uproar. Seriously, maybe we are all giving this too much thought. Children's dolls are to entertain, not push propaganda.

Why don't men be men and women be women and be happy with who we are I am female and I plan on staying female no need to change anything it just looks so gross to see a drag queen or a man pretending to be a woman just so stupid oh excuse me did not mean to offend them

She fixes her body to match who she really is *because* she is happy with who *she* is. Nobody is their body. They are not "men who become women," but women born with the wrong parts. Even if that is not true, everyone should have the right to full autonomy over their bodies. If a woman can have an abortion and a man can have sex with another man, why not the right to make your body more accurately reflect who you really are? Personally, I find crossdressing to be offensive in that it trivializes and degrades all women, including women like I mentioned. A crossdresser (and other transgender folks) dresses up to become different or distort the concept of gender, while a transsexual person fixes their body and eliminates any differences to fit in with most. Unlike a gay person, they obtain the correct parts for sex through surgery. Transsexuals would have more rights and recognition as normal, mainstream women if recreational cross-dressing, a visible transgender movement, and gay sex were all illegal. Of course, that will never happen here in the US.

Childrens dolls are to entertain- agreed [as already stated here] but also on a more subtle level to educate.. or even to familiarize children with life's real facts, or indeed with the basic facts of life .. I also agree, whatever 'bits and pieces' both male and female have should be replicated in any doll, otherwise it will urge the child to wonder at an early age, WHY certain 'bits' are omitted and other 'bits, like the tongue, the navel, etc.. included.

People can buy the secondary conversion kit put out by Mattel. Just google "Barbie addadictomy kit", it's about $7.95 plus shipping.

Oh good grief! I collect Barbie's because I like them and most are labeled for collectors/adults. Barbie is big business.

I've always liked Barbie's little girlfriend better, she wasn't so much of a fashionista, more of a normal little dollie for me.

Some "certain bits" that "Ken" is notoriously missing? I think "Ken" was really the first "surgically altered" doll in the Barbie neighborhood. Poor guy, emasculated before he even had a chance!
