you can do better depending on where you stay, check out the nearby hotels online, some are cheaper and you can still walk to all the same places

Don't forget to take that magical and culturally enlightening hike through M.Wright housing and the dinner cruise to Palolo Valley. The Hotel Street night walk culminates with refreshments at IHS.

Keep tourists out!!! hawaii needs more agriculture, aquaculture, and hydroponics... less tourists and garbage.

no matter how much money any tourist or group of tourists spend... the amount of trash he/she or group leaves behind is... outrageous!!!

save the hawaiian islands and sell off (the tourists to another state/city/country... anywhere!!!

its upsetting to hear settlers in the local government of hawaii claiming tourists are good for hawaii...

japanese settlers, philipino settlers, white settlers, and all other settlers... GET OFF THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS

2012 is coming

2012? Ya know, certain groups predicted the end of the world in 1918, etc...we're still here, get over it. BTW, if 2012 is coming, no need for all the settlers to leave no more Hawaii anyhow.

True, like most minority societies in history, the Hawaiians:

Never domesticated animals
Never developed the wheel
Never had metal based technology
Never developed a modern political or social structure
Never learned to write
Never got rid of their idols
Never built a road
Never wove cloth
Lost the art of making pottery, but lapita pottery was extremely crude to begin with.
Never developed the scientific method
Though surrounded by the materials and natural examples, never made glass.

When one asks the question, "Why are these groups on the margins of the world?" Now we can see why.
Those who never managed to reach the basic levels of human achievement,(btw, arriving in the Pacific islands because they were forcibly driven out militarily by incoming mainland Asians, you mighty warriors you) are evolutionary dead ends, Hawaii, a stratified, isolated society only did well so long as they were isolated, not only from the Haoles, but from other Polynesians also. Then one day, the competition showed up.

I might ask our thread starter as to why in God's own name he is even condsidering starting a business here or doing business here of ANY Kind. You should let the folks here know, as they can greatly enlighten you as to the pitfalls and traps of trying to come to Hawaii and make any kind of profit.

So true as I make my way around the Socialist Democratic Republic of Hawaii, all I see is local bums and union workers.I know for a fact a lot don't work and don't want to. Just smoke some herb, drink some Bud light and bitch. Losers

Is the term Paradise an actual corruption of
"Pair of dices?" To mean "as the likeness of the pleasure that's found in gambling"? Because Paradise has pleasure as well as risk in it?

Hey lets have gambling, that'll work. Hey let's have prostitution, legalize pakalolo, and let the party roll on!

How long Hawaii, will you continue to seek quick fix answers that don't address the problems and refuse to take actions that would stop the degradation of your state? Controlling incoming populations, controlling settlement, controlling resources, controlling wastes, removing criminals and mainlanders and foriegners who neither contribute nor obey the laws, restricting the number of people who get to come here. Tracking those that do to make sure they can pay their way and aren't felons. These are things other locales do around the nation and the world, but God forbid Hawaii ever step up and really do something. Oh yeah, God,...maybe its time to stop letting the good times roll and remember what made Hawaii the most literate and one of the most prosperous places in the world, with the kind of life most people could never think of having, God, yeah, in the rush to easy living, easy money, easy this and that, and plenty of the good times, God is long forgotten. I have to leave soon, I've done all I could while I was here, but if the folks whose land this is won't take care of her, there's nothing left for an outsider to do. Peace.
