I have been fighting this fight for about two years now. I was hoping for someone like you to come along. If you go back in these blogs you will find information that I have been posting. I have done everything. I live in Oregon. Blogged in as Kay as well as Wiccachicca. Email me at number4wynne@yahoo. com I have hundreds of letters from upset and very sick smokers.
SJ Insider wrote:
Well, I can't believe out of 537 posts, not one poster is able to identify the chemical(s) being used to gain the desired result of killing all of the smoker's....I mean, having the cigerette go out.
What the heck is going on. To be honest I can't take it. Time to fight the F**k back.
Here's the number for the FDA
1-888-463-6332
I am going to tape an initial report to be aired at actv24.com
Should have it up shortly. Also sent story requests to the Big 3 networks and brought the topic up on my radio show (WIBG 1020 AM - Southern New Jersey - wibg.com )I am emailing my local state legislators next. Non-Smoker's should be just as concerned about this under-the-radar- anti-liberty legislation as soon they'll be adding something to your twinkies without your knowledge. Is this what America has come to? One group (usually well funded and with a serious agenda)bullies legislators to enact laws against other groups in order to acheive some specific, personal goal. All of the goody-two-shoes nobody listened to in grammer school have gravitated toward government in order to pay us all back for laughing. Anyone know what state near NJ that still sells the regular non-fsc cig's?

How did I miss this. Well said.....
Miss America wrote:
Consider this: Communist China still considers U.S. to be it's number 1 enemy.
Remember the poisoned pet food that was being imported from China?
Remember the children's toys imported from China which contained lead paint and other
harmful chemicals? Anyone remember the scandal when tainted and poisoned, bulk chemicals
produced in China were winding up being sold as pharmaceutical grade ingredients used
in medicine which lead to the deaths of many people before it was discovered what was going on?
All true but don't take my word for it; do your own research!
Communist China produces the self extinguishing FSC Cigarette paper used in American Cigarettes.
Using forced slave labor, China can produce the several metric tons of this paper needed to
supply the U.S. cigarette industry at lower costs than if the paper were to be produced
in the U.S.
One such company is Purico Group Company(China)
Features Specifications: Cigarette Paper
Company produces and sells several types of industrial paper,
and its main products cigarette paper and non-porous filter paper.
Company produces cigarette paper with various ranges, and product capacity is as follows:
Cigarette Papers: Western standard U Grades(30-60Coresta units)
A1 and A2 Chinese designated Grades Filter Papers and optional
B grade papers Substance 25-35 GSM Group Members
Flax containing and mixed furnish Higher Coresta Papers(20-300)
Low side stream Self extinguishing (U.S. FSC designation).
Every time you purchase cigarettes manufactured with FSC paper imported from China, you are supporting
Chinese industry. China is a communist country; all industry is controlled by Chinas communist government.
Some of the profits from Chinese industry go directly to building Chinas huge military.
An earlier poster indicated that big money was behind the move to mandate FCS paper.
China has enough money to covertly support (bribe) corrupt U.S. politicians who will gladly
mandate this poisonous mix be injected into your cigarettes.
This is not about saving lives by reduction of house fires. It's about conducting covert unconventional
low level chemical warfare upon millions of U.S. citizens with the intent of weakening and sickening the population
in any way they can. What an ingenious way to increase the death rate! Put killer chemicals into a product
already known to be harmful. Hide the fast acting poison in with the other poison and call it FSC.
Perhaps it's not too far from the truth to say FSC stands for FURTHERING SUPREMACY of CHINA.
One more thing. For those of you rolling your own...there will probably soon be some new law and some new excuse to
put something into all rolling papers and all loose tobacco to make sure no one can by pass what is being done with
the FSC plot.

Well, I have been smoking 2 year old stale cigarettes that I have had put away for a rainy day. It will take some time to get my order from the Native American website but I will post to let everyone know how they are. At $12.99 a carton & supposedly comparable to Marlboro, it will be worth trying.
All of the smokers at my job are hacking away & aren't sure if I convinced them that these cigarettes are making them feel sick....I assure them that I am not that convincing!
I may RMO. I tend to doubt that the rolling papers will change, especially if you buy hemp papers.

I just came across this. I have been getting headaches and upset stomach. I thought it was something else but I'm wondering if it's my cigarettes. I have never been able to smoke marlboro or camels they give me a headache but always smoked basics now for years. Now I think the are giving me headaches. Does anyone know if they are using this paper on basic cigarettes. I'm wondering is it the paper cause mine stay lit...perhaps these gas prices being so high they are putting something in all the cigarettes that is a cheaper tobacco or some filler. I have notices alot of things at the grocery stores getting smaller and costing more. Perhaps it's not the paper!

it took me about 3 packs to realize something was wrong with cigarettes after the new year. i finally did a little research and found out.
i came down with a wicked case of bronchitis, sinutsits, headaches and the most terrible PANIC ATTACKS. the fsc cigarettes made my heart beat very fast and i could never catch my breath. i was also sinking in to a severe state of depression.
until i decide to quit (which is soon), i have been driving to WI to get them. it's out of my way and a little expensive, but it's SO worth it. i no longer have that cough, headache or the panic attacks.
I have had the same problem, the severe panic attacks and thought I was going crazy! Thank you for your post, now I know I need to quit.

I had many problems these last weeks. I had a racing heart, light-headed, panic attacks, pain in stomach, problems with driving, and mood swings. I finally found this site, which probably explains what is going on. On a pack of my Ultra-Light Marlboro cigs, above the bar code is FSC. I never even heard of this before, but now I know the reason for my problems. I will try to quit, but for now how do you buy cigs without the fsc????

If the letters "FSC" appear above the bar code on your Basic's, then they are FSC (Fire Safety Compliant). All of the big brand cigarettes must be FSC in NJ. I'm waiting to check out cigarettes from a Native American site...they are not FSC. I have purchased a carton of cigarettes that are made in England from a British friend.
Don't smoke FSC - they are horrible.

Philip Morris Net Beats Analysts' Estimates on Sales in Indonesia, Mexico

Philip Morris International Inc., the world's largest publicly traded tobacco company, reported second-quarter profit that exceeded analysts' estimates because of currency gains and higher sales of Marlboro ...
This is why we don't matter!

acrolein (Aqualin, Magnacide) Herbicide Profile 3/85
acrolein
CHEMICAL NAME: Z-propenal (56)
TOXICOLOGY
A. ACUTE TOXICITY
B. SUBACUTE AND CHRONIC TOXICITY:
No effect on rats fed water containing 200 ppm for 90 days (58).
Chronic effects of exposure to acrolein are skin irritation and
occasionally skin allergy appearing as hives or a rash (14).
IV. ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
Field observations and laboratory datat show that fish vary
considerably in their tolerance to acrolein. Most fish are killed at
less than 1 ppm (58).
Acrolein will remain in the water for up to 6 days depending upon
water temperature (58).
V. EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES
The chemical information provided below has been condensed
from original source documents, primarily from "Recognition and
Management of Pesticide Poisonings", 3rd ed. by Donald P. Morgan,
which have been footnoted. This information has been provided in
this form for your convenience and general guidance only. In
specific cases, further consultation and reference may be required
and is recommended. This information is not intended as a sub-
stitute for a more exhaustive review of the literature nor for the
judgement of a physician or other trained professional.
If poisoning is suspected, do not wait for symptoms to develop.
Contact a physician, the nearest hospital, or the nearest Poison
Control Center.
FREQUENT SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS OF POISONING:
HEADACHE, DIZZINESS, NAUSEA, and vomiting are prominent early
symptoms of excessive exposure to these gases. Acrolein is a strong
irritant causing BURNING SENSATIONS in the nose and throat, TEARING,
COUGH, and sometimes hoarseness and wheezing. DROWSINESS, TREMORS,
double vision, and weakness are the common early manifestations of
central nervous system impairment. Tremors may progress to myoclonic
movements, then to generalized SEIZURES, UNCONSCIOUSNESS, and death.
INHALATION: Remove victims of fumigant inhalation to fresh air.
Even though initial symptoms and signs are mild, keep victim quiet, in
a semireclining position. Reduction in physical activity reduces the
likelihood of pulmonary edema (25).

Began making my own. Was sick of all this crap from my state government. I'm really pleasantly surprised. Less than $10.00 per carton, and better than Marlboro. Plus, no chemical additives or FSC concerns.
What kind do you buy and where? Tobacco Shops? Any reccommendations?

We knew nothing about the chemicals added to cigarettes until about a month ago, both my husband and myself have had health problems since december and spent a lot of money to try to figure out what was wrong with us. Headaches, coughing up gunk, sick to our stomach, plus much more - do they know what this will do to us in the long run? The FDA does not have a good track record lately -

The refusal by a major proportion of smokers who are finally waking up to this disgusting law is growing. Cigarette sales are down in our area. Convenience stores are ordering fewer cigarettes because of sales. I have not bought a pack of cigarettes since the day before Memorial day weekend. I am buying 100 per cent natural tobacco and king sized paper tubes from a local smoke shop. The cost per can plus 200 tubes is $18.10. From this, I am able to roll 7 1/2 packs of cigarettes. No more coughing, not even in the morning. My husband bought a pack of Newport lights last weekend when he forgot to bring his pack of handrolled, and was sick for two days after with stomach and lung problems. Once again, call, call call and complain, complain, complain. They will get the message eventually, if only because of lost tax revenue. This appears to be the only way to stop this, through their pocketbooks.

I too, ran from store to store looking for non FSC cigarettes, when they ran out I went from town to town, then from state to state. I wanted to continue smoking as I really DO enjoy it, but the end came as of July 1, when the supplies of non FSC were finished and only FSC are allowed in our state. In all other states bordering mine and beyond it is now the law. I am stockpiling the paper tubes because I feel they may be next in the govt's. efforts. My state rep. had NO idea what was in these cigarettes and told me so. They have the $%*& to vote on this law without even reading the information or without one question. SHows what is running our govt.

My State Senator's legislative aid got back to me regarding this and apparently this is a federal Mandate not a state by state issue. They could not find any information regarding how this law came to be but are still working on trying to find out. Even if it is a federal issue there should still be information available from the State as to where it came from, etc. I will post updates as warranted.
