The house around the corner from us just sold for nine hundred grand. My brother is getting his Instrument rating and I'm gonna finish my Private later this year. Is that a depression? GM is looking at bankruptcy because it built poorly made cars nobody wanted for too many years. They're going down the same road as British Leyland and Studebaker before them and will probably end up in the same place. I don't see Honda and Toyota talking about going broke. Their sales are down but they're still very much alive and still making money. Honda is doing the Hondajet in Greensboro and it's projected to be a very hot product when it comes out. Still think it's a depression?

Still think it's a depression? No, it's just income disparity on a Latin American scale, where you're either very well-to-do or extremely poor. No in-between. It's kind of poor form for you to rub peoples' noses in it, rotty. So much for noblesse oblige. You must have a very small penis.

Are you kidding me? We are definitely in a depression and the fun is just beginning. Thanks to all who bought foreign vehicles and other junk from China, Japan, etc... Free trade made it possible for them to drop their crap here. You think it's funny that the American auto worker is in trouble, you also forget that the American auto worker is the one who supports this country in a huge number. Everybody's goin' down. It's a vicious circle.

Honda; Ohio, Alabama Mecedes; Alabama Hyundai; Alabama Kia: Georgia BMW; South Carolina And, that is not a complete list. It does not include the HUNDREDS of component suppliers located in the USA

Not everyone works in the auto industry, just as we don't all work in the real estate industry or the tech industry or in finance. Global trade is REAL and it is NOT going away! This is why I'm telling you Ohio has to get with the program. If it doesn't, it's gonna look like West Virginia ten years from now.

I did hear Tesla has plans to ramp up production in Fremont, which is about a half hour from me.

I'm just telling you things are nowhere near as bad as you say they are. What's happening there now has been coming for years. Time after time, the Detroit Three were told to get their collective act together and each time they took the path of least resistance. I've been telling friends and family since 1995 that Ohio's leadership would sit there and watch the place burn to the ground...and that is precisely what happened. I'm gonna ask you yet again: What in the hell are you all afraid of? Why can't you simply stand up to your leadership?

The article below should interest you. I see the Tesla as being where the cell phone was 25 years ago, unaffordable for the masses, but ground-breaking nonetheless. Now they are as common as tv sets. Ditto VCRs in the late 70s. It all shows that things are happening. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1215474050227...

This deal would remove 35% tariffs from our goods and make them comparable to those from the EU and Canada. Without the deal, our goods cost more, we lose deals and that HURTS the workers. More orders is better not worse.

America should take pride in those that ACHIEVE and not complainers like you that have 3rd grade comebacks focused on penis size.

I wonder if the SF south peninsula area (Fremont) will end up being the next Detroit. Wouldn't THAT be a switch? Boy...they'll have to widen the 101 freeway.

The money still goes oversees and these companies don't pay what the American companies were paying employees. They also don't have the retirees to support like the big 3 car companies. They build cars here because it is cheaper than importing them and they can fool people by stating Americans build them. They still use inferior imported steel. Again American companies can't compete because of our EPA laws that these companies don't have to deal with. Buying foreign cars has led to a downfall in the American economy whether you can face the fact or not.
