Magnitude 7.5 Earthquake Strikes Off Russia in Sea of Okhotsk, USGS Says
A magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck beneath the Sea of Okhotsk today, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Apparently the deepest in the region in the record. Apparently the pacific plate descends in lurches, so this is catching up with the stuff that is down there already & is being pushed from above (squelch).
