Found it on the NEIC website.

Moment tensor shows it as being located on the backarc rift and it is a transform fault. Explains the shallow depth and rather heavy damage.

Also of note is the ongoing outbreak of "gaga" in the SW.forearc which indicates a major quake is due in the forearc islands area on the Myanmar/Bangladesh borederzone of the Burma backarc basin. That space is worth watching as a prior otbreak of "gaga" in the Aceh region culminated in the reboun/long duration mercalli X (r/lx) event which relaxed the crust of the SW. Andaman backarc basin.
The SW.part of the Burma backarc basin has the highest recompression rate following the large event of ~650BC which showed up in Hindu legends as the "Dance of kali", and resulted in a large palaeo tsunami. This event appears to have resulted in r/lx of the Burma backarc basin and also the N. part of the Andaman backarc basin,(possibly also including S. Andaman).

As both volcanism and deep earthquakes are now quiet in SW. Burma, the possibility of r/lx is real here, but 75% of the probability is a forearc compression event uplifting several fold islands.
Volcanism per se in the Burma backarc basin is also quiet, but historic activity @ Tengchong in the currently least compressed part of the Burma backarc basin is probably still uncomplete during this r/lx cycle, more volcanic activity there is likely in the near future.

Will keep watching that space.

Have a nice day: Ag
