That was smart teachers. Join the club that everyone else is in. Stagnant wages.

Wow maybe teachers are receiving common sense training now! When schools are broke and there is no one left to tax its time to start thinking rationally instead of being greedy!

Here's a compromise: The teachers won't take a pay raise.....so....

give them $2,000.00 worth of free chips from the new casino being built.

The options being they win some or loose it all. Either way a fun time

and at least they have a chance at something more than no raise.

A zero percent pay raise doesn't impress me when their wages are 20% too high and they are only paying 20% of what I have to pay towards their health insurance. Health insurance for a family of five is almost $1000 per month now. Somebody needs to teach these featherbedding unions a lesson about real world economics!

Also, these teachers ram evolution down students throats and prayers aren't allowed at the beginning of the day. We need to lower taxes and restore Jesus Christ to the classroom.

Funny how these folks all sing a different tune with the reality of financially responsible laws coming into play. How much of this is sincere, and how much of this is a ploy to suck people in to an anti-SB5 bandwagon? Be wary, taxpayers! Be very wary!

Across the state, teachers unions are settling for less in order to secure multi-year contracts well before SB5 goes into effect. This is no coincidence. Ask your superintendent or school boards. The mere possibility of SB5 staying law has induced dramatic savings. This is good news for taxpayers. I'm happy teachers settled for less, but SB5 is the real effort that deserves praise.

Kudos to the Worthington Teachers Union.

It's GOOD to see a situation in which the Teachers' Union are working WITH the community and school district in which they serve instead of an adversarial relationship.

Times are tough and everyone is in the same boat. Let's hope that things do turn around in the next two to three years.

We can ONLY hope, right?

This isn't really a big thing. Teacher's unions do this all the time when their districts are having financial trouble. It's just that with SB5 and whatnot everything that teacher's do is under scrutiny. Without it this probably wouldn't even be in the news.

As what is your suggestion for those that don't believe in Christ? Ram that down their throats, too?

This is exactly right. This deal is still better than they would get if SB5 goes into effect. This is why they are negotiating a contract a year ahead. This is going on all over the state. Everyone knows the economy sucks and there wouldnt be raises anyway so they at least get a little something. More than most people.

Jesus Christ IS the Lord and Savior. Those who don't believe are going to hell but they might be saved. With all the homosexuality and drugs, we need Jesus in the classroom today!

That is only your opinion and you are entitled to it. However, religion needs to stay OUT of public schools. If one wants their children to get religion in a school setting, either home school them or send them to a private religious school. Besides, who knows, perhaps "Jesus" was gay since him mom was a lesbian...just sayin'....
