MADD is nothing but a bunch of prohibitionists disguised as drunk-driving organization. They do not want ANY alcohol to be sold or consumed at all. To attack a video game that is trying to show all the real-world aspects of crime, yes, and driving is just something MADD needs to keep their nose out of. Seriously, at .08 in the real-world should be raised, but to go and say that you can't even have a drink then drive in a video game is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of. Maybe MADD wants to ban people drinking at home (obviously) and then playing any sort of video game. Someone might get hurt... People and the Govt. have given MADD too much power and this needs to be stopped. I know people have died because of drunk driving, but obviously, you can't stop it. You can preach all you want. but MADD needs to refocus on the true sorce of drunk driving and not on people's pocket books through law enforcement.

I am very disappointed to see this article. MADD is not worthy of news coverage or, indeed, any attention whatsoever. What began as a noble group intent on educating the public on the dangers of drinking and driving has become nothing more than an over-funded neo-prohibitionist blob. Don't believe me? Then ask MADD's founder who stated that long before I did.

People believe that MADD is a sacred cow and rarely question it; well, it's high time that we start eating prime rib. MADD was created in order to bring about public awareness on drunk driving - something it did admirably. It's mission was successful. Organizations, however, don't just die off - it's objective has turned away from drunk driving and towards restrictions on drinking all together. Seriously, look up Candy Lightner, the founder of MADD. I'm simply paraphrasing her own words.

I recall in the past 2 years of 2 MADD members being arrested for DUI...Of course they got the Best DUI lawyers...A few of their member's children chidren got bagged too. They like to smell their own farts just like our corrupt CT politicians & lobbyists.

I was almost killed by a drunken looser but I think this mad group is just a new Socialist arm.
Close the bars and ban all booze I could care less. It would give the city gangs more to sell to the people. The State would loose taxes! Thats what its all about kids - TAXES

I hate to see how things like alcohol,violence and drugs can be glorified in a video game. That is exactly why I won't be buying the game for my children (though yuo have some sickos who will). I think there are more serious things to protest. Thankfully, I have never lost a loved one to drunk driving so I can't even imagine how members of MADD must have felt when they saw the ads for this game, but I think it is better to focus that energy on things like improving public education and things of that nature.
