Jorge Romero the truck driver should be charged with felonies. He was driving a huge diesel truck in slow traffic and he was speeding. Gambling with other peoples lives. He is an experienced driver he should know that big rigs don't stop as quickly as cars. He took three lives. He crushed them to death with his truck. He needs to be in prison for murder. For the rest of his life. A lot of big rig drivers drive just like him very dangerously. The chp has to crack down on big rig drivers in order to prevent this repeating itself.

HE should be tried with his driving record it was bound to happen. I have seen many truck/trailer rigs traveling way to fast on the freeway, I have been past by these huge trucks traveling well over 65mph. What a shame 3 wonderful little people had to be killed so this would be addressed. We should have even a lower speed limit for these trucks and it should be INFORCED.

First: I am a retired truck driver, Mother of 1, and I just lost my Father in a head on collision (the driver of other car, at fault, tested positive for 5 illegal drugs in his system) and all he was charged with was "failure to keep right" (he crossed 2 lanes to hit my Fathers truck). It was 11 am on a sunday morning. They tell me "it was an accident" no charges are filed. In this case: The Mother has admitted she WAS NOT paying attention (trying to wake a small child in the back seat). I think the family is just trying to blame someone else for the Mothers inattentiveness to driving. People who are on the cell phone, turning around playing with kids, yelling at others in the car, fidling with the radio should be RESPONSIBLE for the accident. ANY DRIVER knows to USE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, she would have seen a BIG TRUCK behind her and gotten out of the way, or made sure he was slowing down... she needs to step up and take control of her own. If she was paying attention to the road, and traffic conditions, this might have been avoided. I don't think she should be having MORE KIDS and someday driving them on the roads. She can't pay attention. I am sorry, but that is my 2 cents worth.

Share the road with a trucker...its their job, you are sharing their office sort to speak. PAY ATTENTION.

Romero should get LWOP for killing the 3 kids by intentionally placing their (and our) lives in danger by speeding on the freeway. All the assetts of KW international and Samsun electronics, as well as the executive officers of both companies, should be seized and sold at auction. The proceeds should be given to the family of the dead kids - without paying off any debt currently held by KB international! That way, anyone who was foolish enough to give credit to this company will share in the pain!

I meant KW international - their incentives helped to kill those kids, just as much as that dumb-ass trucker.

If you had listened to the report, the mother was STOPPED IN TRAFFIC when the big rig came behind them at 70 mph. and hit them. As she was stopped in traffic, she turned around to squeeze the baby's toe. She was not driving - whe was STOPPED - get your facts straight - she was not at fault at all - the truck driver was driving like a reckless idiot, and KILLED those 3 beautiful young children!

This is an unfortunate accident. The truck driver had no intent on hurting anyone. He's a human who makes mistakes, just like the rest of us make mistakes. His happened to be one that has long lasting effects on others. I feel for the family and all the parents out there who have the same fears. I ALSO feel for the driver, because if he has a heart, and I'm sure he does, he's hurting very much right now, and it will never leave him. It's simply a very sad accident!

BTW, the person who posted the comment about it being the lady's fault... get a clue and grow a heart! If someone stops in FRONT of you for no apparent reason and you run into them, you've still violated the law. Typically I would write you a ticket for "following too close" and you would be found at fault. The court says a "reasonable person" would stop only if there was an emergency....so therefore this person perceived an emergency (real or not)... and you, Ms. Truck Driver.... were FOLLOWING TOO CLOSE and should have had time to avoid the collision. GUILTY! I hope you're not driving any longer. Funny how people love to push off the guilt of their actions to someone else. "I only had two... officer..... and it was my friend's fault for serving the alcohol..." Idiot!
