The first line of the article was a little off. There was no offer of "free education", was there? Later mentioned was "finance their continuing education". That isn't free education, it's a student loan.
So he's offering a qualified worker a $10,000 sign on bonus, or a relocation package. Nice. But not unusual. That might work, and that's the only way he might get these positions filled. Semitool is a nice company. It employs a lot of people, and appears to make the Thompsons a bunch of money. I don't know Mr. Severson. |
