Maybe the NRC will hire Mr. Beal. What did he do that made him unemployable? Tell me again. Stay afloat ! Don't rock the boat!
We sure need some elected officials to get off of their duffs when things like this happen and not let them gut the employee. Checks and balances are what made us great and the elected officials have lost sight of their mission. |

You don't change corporate culture overnight with a few lectures and surveys. It took years and millions of dollars for PECo (now Exelon) to clean up its act after they were shut down for sleeping control room operators years ago, and the Ready Rangers problem is the same-- low-skilled employees in a cloistered rural environment who are trained and supervised by less than exemplary nuclear staff. Rigorous third-party audits are one way for mamangement to test whether they have made any real gains.
