The officers shouldn't face no charges, because the inmates in this prison any other prison shouldn't be hitting nobody I think the state should let them keep their jobs and let the inmate take his beatings like a man. sense he want to be a gangster in prison. The state should come to the aid of the correctional officers instead of the inmate that started the whole thing. Correctional officers are regular person with families that at the end of a day want to go home alive and well. this is the wrong thing the state is doing. God bless all the correctional officers that do this job.

As a retired DOC employee maybe someone needs to look into investigating Gary D. Maynard, Secretary and the Gov. of Maryland. Maynard has been in several states in the past and is a notorious liberal along with O'Malley. How about the killed Correctional officer in Hagerstown that a retired liberal Judge was brought out of retirement just to here that case. Also the murdered correctional officer in Baltimore area. In the case of the Baltimore officer one problem is your dealing whith inner urban city and corruption also is a problem because of many officer living or related to the inmates.
Also a statement made by the gov, and retired Judge, that it cost less to keep a inmate in jail than it is to give them the death penalty. Unbelievable stupid comment considering how much its going to cost the state tax payer for medical, food and fixing the jail after he repeatedly tears the plumbing out of his cell along with transporting the inmate to and from hospitals and other institutions because of their behavior. Im sure a needle isn't going to cost that much. This is not a racial issue but a issue for both Blacks and Whites. Yes this is a job choice, but who is going to do it if no one wants the job. You walk the tiers and see for your self.

please look at the updated article the wrong man has been beaten.
This is my fiancee and daughters father. What you dont know is the torture and abuse that has happened since being moved. Starved, beaten again, and naked for days. No medical treatment and being denied civil rights. These guards are animals. I am reciving mail from inmates advising me if nothing is done he will be KILLED. I have contacted everyone and now relying n the media to help save his life. These articles don't even touch what is going on.

GOD BLESS us correctional officers!(and puh-leeze, we are NOT "guards"!)Thiss poor little baby was assaulting an officer when he got beat. Suck it up, lil gangsta-man. Try to be a bad-ass in prison and see where it gets you. The State needs to back the Officers!! and get the message OUT there that they don't take any crap from inmates. What kind of message is it going to send to the inmates if the Officers lose their jobs~ it says we can't touch the inmates and they can claim they were "assaulted" when we are just doing our jobs to protect everyone else! Us CO's need to stick together!
