I got two e-mails from Robert Sexton today. Subject line was "home remedies for acne" which tempted me to respond. I had found a very successful home remedy for acne I had posted on some websites a while ago. That must have been where he found my e-mail address. Glad I googled his name and "company" before wasting my time.

I also got an email, did not trust them, googled and found this site.
I do not want any communication with them, and did not ask them to mail me so their emails are spam.

Never trust any unsolicited emails about search eninge marketing. They are all scams from people who supposedly reviewed your site and can give you top placements. Search engine markeing is so much more involved than people realize. I am an SEO specialist send out unsolicited emails. I would actually call first.

Shelly, do your research. Check his email address. If it was legit, don't you think the emial would have come from @starposition.com, or something similar? I received his email via an @att.net account. There's also no formal email signature. Ask for references...

I originally came here to warn others about Star Position (Netguard Toolbar), but it looks like you already know about Robert's scam.

I'll just throw another log onto the pile, do not buy from this company. SCAM is written on his forehead if you could see Rob in real life.

When Dozens of people scream out "SCAM" it actually is a scam. Trust your instincts.
No company has this much free time to fake all these posts by unique individuals.

These people here crying out "SCAM" are doing so because they invested alot of time (like me) and were upset to have no results.

Who you gonna believe, the dozens of unique "SCAM" posts by reputable companies, or what Star Position says...

They want to scare you into thinking CPC is bad.
But, CPC (cost-per-click) is awesomely great.
Take google for example, you've got CPC there and conversion tracking so you know what keywords convert and how much it costs for each conversion.

Stay with CPC and improve your Conversions before throwing your money into Star Position's India headquarters.
You cant refund, you cant chargeback them, and most importantly you can't even sue them unless you want to goto India.

This message is actually from Robert Sexton. He likes to pretend he is a happy customer of his own Star Position company, and often uses the words "sockpuppet," plus here he is lame enough to quote his own hype. A very amateur attempt!

You should complain to the L.A. Better Business Bureau if you lost money in this scam.

http://www.la.bbb.org/

The people at Star Position are increasing their BBB consumer review ratings by posting bogus reviews of their own service, posing as happy customers. They also like to acuse anyone who exposes their crimes of being a competitor, even calling them by name. They are not just scammers and criminals, but also disgusting creeps, so yes! Fight back!

I receive dozens of SPAM emails a week from Star Position even after I've replied several times requesting to be removed from their email list. The below is an example email from Star Position.

These SPAM emails are sent by Robert Sexton (rsexton[email protected]), Kathleen Daigle ([email protected]), and most recently by Liz Monteroso ([email protected]).

Never ever do business with a spammer! Their initial contact with you is a crime! What makes you think a legitimate company would *ever* have to spam you to get your business!

It is a violation of copyright to frame one site above another to give the impression that you have some control over the search engine. It is fradulent when someone visits Google and types in a key phrase not knowing something has been placed on their computer that will trap their query and allow the hidden program on your computer to frame a site over google. I am sure if someone explained to Google how this sucker is ripping folks of using the good name of google they would take some action. Maybe even a class action with all the search engines that are getting screwed over. See he is taking the food out of the mouth of baby googles all over the world, not to mention stealing from those poor PPC guys who pay to get their little add at the top in the sponsored box and some dick places a huge box over their ad with some other website.
That is fraud and I think the entire operation and this thread should be clearly identified to the search engines and ppc guys that are being stollen from. Also I am sure google would just love the page where he says all PPC does is pay folks to click your ads and waste your money.
Maybe someone should forward all the unhappy posts here to the Board of the Real estate agentthat to this day is continuing to say how wonderful the service is. That makes a bad name for the real estate agents.

I have received 6 emails from this Robert Sexton today. I have replied back to remove me and I am still receiving emails. Since they are located in California, anyone can take them to court for violating the anti-spam act, since they have no way to opt-out and are not removing people. The way to do this is you take them to small claims court, $5,000 max. Lawyers are not allowed in small claims court.

Um, not only is it not a violation of copyright law, but we've done this for five years. That's because people opt in to download the toolbar. GOOGLE, YAHOO and all the rest know where we are.

When our competitors have been in business for five years like we have, when they have references one can actually call like we have, when they have a good BBB rating like we have, when they take credit cards like we do (relevant - because you dont keep a merchant account for long if you get too many complaints).. then we'll be happy to listen to their input. Until then .. they're welcome to have a nice day :)

Oh, and we give a money back guarantee on what we do, too.

Nice try sliming us. Too bad for you it's so .. transparent :)

(And yes, I own Star Position)

Oh, and one of my 5 references is a Realtor who's been with us for almost five years.

I'd be interested to see if any of our competitors can match our track record. So far, when I ask such a question, all I hear is the sound of crickets chirping.

Robert,
What sort of professional would continue to spam after being requested not to. And why can't you do the simple thing like adding an opt out on the bottom of your spam like a non slimy would do.
Of course there is no need for opt out on the bottom of the email since you apparently do not acknowledge it..
Another Pissed off person receiving your spam.
And since you seem to have an excuse for everything, I assume you will say all those samples emails have had the opt out removed to make you look bad... but I received the same garbage and there was no opt out on mine either.
As I am sure you know that no one believes you anyway... and it also seems that you agent who is the ONLY agent in the Nation backing you of course get a cut.. does not even respond to calls for information... but not to worry I no longer need or want any further information on you ever.
