The Europeans should tell the americans to go to hell and proceed with their plans to protect their citizens from us style fascist spying!

A collision? They seem to think that US companies are more afraid of US laws forcing them to comply with spying than Euro law that may or may not come.

Seems Euro law could be strong enough that those big tech companies will have to comply with one or the other.

Im guessing they will pick US laws as they are located in the USA but that doesnt mean the EU can not restrict them from doing bussiness inside of the EU. Gov agencies in the EU and across the globe are already moving away from tech companies grounded on US soil.

That puts these US tech companies in a hard position; comply with US law and lose the majority of your Euro traffic. What good is this spying if the only people using those services are US citizen?

Looks like the NSA will inadverently severly hamper the US tech sector as damage is already being done.
