What about school superintendents'? Up until this time school boards have had the notion that in order to hire the "best and brightest" they had to constantly increase superintendents' salaries. I recently read that Southington's superintendent refused a raise which was commendable. What shocked me was that the school board was miffed that he did so! In this case, the superintendent showed common sense, something I DO NOT equate with the education system, and the school board showed stupidity!

I believe that by law, government is immune from reality.

big kudos to Zygo for doing the RIGHT thing in this recession. wish my ex-employer thought the same way. 2nd day of 2009, 14 yrs. meant nothing to them. guess training new unskilled worker is cheaper than retaining loyal skilled problem-solver. now i will have to master the precision of folding that paper-wrapper around a hamburger for minimum wage. bye-bye house, hello comfy back-seat of car.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Pisces

It's a great day for fixing anything that needs attention now. That might be a dripping tap, a sick child, an unpaid bill or a miffed partner. However, you'll do particularly well if you need to sort out something connected with official or joint finances or red tape. You might be asked to help someone deal with a bureaucratic problem, especially if they're elderly.
