Lawmakers Consider Stricter Penalties For Firearms Charges

The state of Virginia already has a law on the books that says a convicted felon caught with a firearm can get up to five years in state prison yet the vast majority don't even get a good slice of what they should!!!What is the point of passing endless "let's feel good about ourselves" legislation when the existing laws are already understood by the career criminals and poopsy nuttsies to be a joke?

Another bill, Senate Bill 1378, increases the penalties for those who knowingly sell firearms to those who are not legally allowed to own them, like convicted felons and the mentally ill.
toothless bill w/o mandatory background checks on all purchases, why waste the paper (digital bits) it's written on
