Hey I just lost my job at Nielsen but don't worry - be happy! Obama is going to extend my unemployment, pay my mortgage, and fund my kid's callege tuition. I have some money saved so I'll be in good shape for the next four years.

Is it a sarcasm?

If not, there is some hope than being a hopeless. I don't know why they still show John McCain and Sarah Palin in News and TV. We hardly can handle one real liar Bush, liar to be tested Obama. Geez, I don't think we would like see other liars, BSers and so on. We have our own brand of liars in descending order Habib, Calhoun and Susan who are greatest corporate money makers right in front of us.

The CA and OH call centers are making calls. I know this for a fact based on my position but cannot say anything more as I do not want to have the finger pointed at my team. There are a handful of us who know what is really happening with the calls and the calls are being made in four call centers. All calls are being made within the US: in FL, KY, CA, and OH. Please, no nasty notes challenging me on this. Take it to the bank. Enough said.

It looks like everyone is getting a bail out nowadays; AIG, Banks, GM, so how about me? I've contacted HR and have volunteered to be let go in March and they said that this would not be a problem.

Under Obama's caring administration I will get extended unemployment like you mentioned. You left out extended health care for a year at no cost which is a biggie. I have two kids in college and can apply for special tuition assistance and am certain to be approved. I owe more on my house than its worth and will stop paying my mortgage in March and will live in my home for free for one year and then apply for a mortgage waiver to renegotiate my mortgage. I don't pay taxes so will recieve a tax refund at the end of next year which will allow me to take a nice vacation which we are now planning to New Zealand where the Lord of the Rings was shot. This is a dream come true.

All said and done I will come out way ahead and thats not even factoring in the reduced stress of not having to work at Nielsen. For at least the next year or so it just doesn't make financial sense for me to work. Thanks Obama!!! Real change is here!!!

You're an A***h***. It is just some hope. We all know Bill was sc&&eing in White House but the economy was not bad. See what you Bush did. McCain would have been looking to sc**w some 18 yrs olds and Palin already spent $150,000 just for the campaign clothes, I wonder what she would be doing if she becomes something and sell the whole Alaska to China or Russia to make herself and her family rich.

Obama is somebody who can be like Slicky Billy in economy policy of the cty.

Habib sold Nielsen, Palin would have sold US or just Alaska to any country who will offer something she desires.

It's good you voted for Obama or you won't be seeing New Zealand or your kids won't be educated enough to go to college.

We need to turn up the heat on senior management.

Look whats happened at Citi this week. Up to 40,000 jobs are on the chopping block. Citi has been on a downward track since Habbib and his monkey brain were complicit in screwing everything up. Now faced with the global economic mess and poor management, Citi is in real trouble. Shares are off 74% from a 52 week high.

The same management ideals and the same economic conditions are bound to play out at the Nielsen Company. Marketing expenditures, the driver of N Co's revenue, are likely to fall as the economy chills. Meanwhile MH and DC are going to continue to squeeze out every last drop of blood out of the company.

I know this all sounds like gloom and doom. But this is how things are unfolding..

The titans of industry at Nielsen have forseen this and are trucking in thousands of newly hired Master Black Belts (complete w/comberbums) as we speak. That oughta' fix things.

As manager with Nielsen, we were promised many things on the transition to Crossmark. Jobs were at stake, I brought my team over. I was fired with one minutes notice. No severance, no insurance.
Silver Gurl,

I experienced your fate.

Every time something went wrong the guy in charge fired someone like that would fix the problem--he fired his best people.

Real problems were ignored. Firing was just buying time.

In the end there was no choice except outsourcing the entire organization. In effect, fire everyone.

Now he sits alone with virtually nothing to manage except a relationship with Crossmark.

How sad is that? Not as sad as being out of a job, but still pretty sad.

The Midas touch of Mitchel Habib:

GE, needs the United States Government help out they are so bad off
Citigroup, just laid off 53,000 workers 8,000 in New York.
Nielsen, need I say more?.

Happy Monday Habib, my hope is you lost millions in the stock market (but I'm sure your hiding money offshore), enjoy your day

Too bad we can't leverage a class action suit against MH & DC for poorly managing the company which we invested years of hard work only to have our lively hoods compromised or taken completely away by sleazy robber barons.

Comments by Six Sigmoidoscopy are too funny. Nice to have a laugh out of all this.

Losses at Citi are worse than reported over the weekend. 53K is crazy number. The sick part of it is the bastards are probably rewarded for cutting jobs just like MH and DC are...

Is that the American Way ?

Thanks to Worker Bee for fighting the good fight. Please keep it going...

Rewarding failure at the top. That's the new American way.

When you reward failure, is it any surprise that you get more failure?

Shelton just lost 35 more jobs that were declared to be safe from TCS. True to his misleading word, they just shut down one group and outsourced the other to newly acquired IAG.

Mitchell habib the most dishonest honest person ive encountered.

I am a data collection associate for Crossmark who bump into this site.

From my perspective, Crossmark is a better place to work then Nielsen Data Acquisition.

I'm not sure it is quite so true for my supervisor, though. They had high hopes in leaving because Nielsen management insisted on having this weird adversarial relationship with their sups. Like that works or something.

I don't believe that has changed much, but Crossmark seems to respect their hourly people more.
