Looks like the typical cash hog top manager to me. Throughout time there has always been people willing to grab the money and screw everyone else.

I would love to see Michael Moore make a movie about Nielsen.

BTW I used Odd Todd first, someone else is using the name as well. I used it because of the old online comic www.oddtodd.com

I work in the Covington Office too, I wonder who the other Odd Todd is..........

We all know that on a $600k salary plus $900k in AIP that Mitch can't afford his own car or to pay for his own financial planner and CPA. Another case of corporate greed where the rich helping the rich to get richer and in this case one old colleague lining another's pockets with money made by putting American workers out of work.
Calhoun and Habib have no morals. They are selfish individuals only concerned with increasing their own wealth at the expense of others. It is corporate execs like this that have ruined the U.S. economy IMHO.
I also especially love this one:
annual executive physical assistance of up to $2,500.
So, Nielsen pays for his yearly gym membership, too.*I can't imagine how much he would have to struggle to come up with a hundred bucks a month to go to Gold's Gym*
Whatever.

So Susan Whiting has pocketed 9 million over the last two years. I guess thats the going rate to buy a CEO's silence over the ruination of their company.

Thanks Miss Whiting.

How much could nieslen save if it simply outsourced the upper management to india? I know one thing, if that had happened, and the new management did nothing, but we kept all our outsourced talent, we'd be in a better position than we are now.

I'd go a little easy on Susan. She did work her way up through the ranks. I knew her when she first started and Susan is a very good person and a very smart person. I believe she is very much a Nielsenite at heart and believes in the integrity + honesty that NMR used to tout. I also believe she probably doesn't have much clout with the new owners and she could be stone-walled if and when she offers her opinions. It's probably a tough position to be in in the current climate. I think she is the ONLY female in Nielsen's senior cigar smoking mgmnt, too. I guess "glass ceilings" are still there. Good luck Susan.

This is a great site and we should start posting on the "jossip" site as well to get the media's attention about the fraud that's being perpetrated by Calhoun and his goon Mitchell!

I agree. I don't fault Susan for making this type of money. She earned it when she handled the people meter issue three years ago. At least she's honest and has morales.

Best wishes to Susan!

Some interesting articles. Sorry if these links have been posted before. I am just trying to pass on what I feel is relevent.

There is another article the discusses why Indian outsourcing could help your business but it sounds as if Habib wrote it himself. Here is some food for thought:

http://www.cio.com/article/146450/Eight_Reaso...

CIO article on slowdown in outsourcing megadeals yet Nielsen spends $1.2 billion on TCS:

http://www.cio.com/article/148105

CIO article on Habib:

http://www.cio.com/article/147952

It is interesting that the writer refers to Habib as "thick-skinned" yet he can't control his emotions at the town hall meetings when someone asks him a difficult question. He reverts to childish antics and tries to belittle the person posing the question. Hardly thick-skinned, just thick-headed.

Habib on change: "We think change is constant. We’re never going to say change is over. If you’re not continuing to innovate, either your competition is or you’re in trouble." Funny - seems to me like Mitch is doing the same thing he did at GE and Citigroup. Hardly change just more of the same b.s. that lines his pockets with more $$.

Habib on plan revisions: "Sun Tzu wrote in The Art of War: If you’re not going to refine your plan, you’re going to make mistakes." Well Habib hasn't refined his plan in his last 3 companies so based on his statement he is aware of and admitting he is making mistakes. How pathetic that a CIO would criticize his own M.O. in a published article.

Some other questions:

1. What ever happened to "Mitchell's Corner"?
2. Is he still doing "roundtables"?
3. What happened to the monthly phone calls and the town hall meetings?

While Habib has been the focus of a lot of posts on this blog let's make sure not to forget Calhoun who shares the responsibility for what is happening at Nielsen.

Also, if you haven't already please e-mail some of your local media about what is happening. E-mail Michael Moore. The more exposure this gets the better. Write or call your representatives and let them know how you feel about the outsourcing of American jobs. Remember this is not only happening at Nielsen - this is an epidemic in the U.S. that must be stopped as it is costing good, hard-working people their jobs and eroding the economic foundation of this country.

As someone who worked for Nielsen for over 20 years I am disgusted about what is happening. I have been through the D&B, Cognizant and VNU buyouts but nothing compares to this. I have had the opportunity to work with some very intelligent and innovative people in Nielsen companies world-wide that helped build Nielsen into a great company. If you feel like I do please take the time and effort to let people know what is happening and how it is affecting you. I will never ask you to e-mail me as I respect people's right to privacy. I just am tired of what people like Habib and Calhoun are doing to this country and am going to fight back with all I have. I hope all of you who have posted your concerns feel the same and will take action.

Thank you...

No more meetings no more calls... He is done with us, I'm telling you he is looking to rape and pillage another company and will bring TATA and the Indians with him.

More dirt on Habib's coffin? There's more going wrong than we're all aware of. Given enough rope, it looks like he and Dave are hanging themselves as predicted. It's just a matter of time now. It'll be "Adios amigos" - don't let the door hit you on the way out...
