My guess was it was just some little piece of plumbing for the guys home/work. No one in their right mind would assemble a pipe bomb in the parking lot. He was probably just test fitting something and some douche bag freaked out.

Note to self, as a plumbing contractor, don't assemble anything in the OSH parking lot...

Sure.

I agree with the others. Pipes with their different threads, very confusing. Guy probably tried fitting the parts together before leaving to save a return trip if he bought the wrong thing.

Note the guy was not arrested according to the story.

They detonated the "device?" I sure hope the guy gets the county to reimburse him for their ... eagerness.

I would suspect an upset progressive socialist regarding what is going to happen to them as a result of the elections tomorrow.

I so hate it when I finally figure out how to put together some funky plumbing and the bomb squad comes and blows it up!!

You just can't be too careful these days.

When these fools start hanging around plumbing supply houses assembling the parts they just bought, any straight thinking red blooded American terrorized by the media would have called the cops.

If we save one life, then forfeiting all of your civil rights would be worth it.

Right?

So how does a bicycle lock wrapped in duct tape become a credible threat unless it's used upside the head? and inquiring minds wanna know exactly how does this qualify as an experimental device assembled by an engineer. It may explain why he's in the parking lot at OSH at noon instead of at work....

...peaceably to assemble plumbing components in hardware store parking lots?

That guy assembling pipe parts had to have been so humiliated, and his every protestation of innocence just increasingly damning. Plus, now he has to try and remember how those f**king parts fit together.

I guess it's true. The "citizens" of our once-fair city have been dumbed-down to the point where stuff like this happens. Two "concerned calls" over "possible bombs". Bunch of scared, ignorant sheep.

So the cops had no trouble finding the man and his car, and in spite of what he told them, they blew up his plumbing supplies, then said, "Oh, I guess you *were* telling the truth!" Good thing they didn't blow up his car, too. Stupid cops.

It would seem that #5 Watsonville, who says, "I work in orchard supply..it was really a bomb.." did not stick around to find out how the story unfolded nor did #5 read the article. The article clearly states there was NO bomb found; case closed. But perhaps the biggest giveaway that there was NO bomb was that BMW Man was NOT arrested during a time when this country is particularly sentive to bomb scares. Since it turned out to be a false alarm, BMW Guy will probably be able to keep his name off the "Do Not Fly" list; but I bet he gets stripped searched the next time he tries to board a plane.

I wanna know how you "detonate" a NON explosive
Device?? You guys just get off on using all the fancy NCIS language don'tcha? They squirted it with
a hopped up garden hose!!! Plus they got to play with the neat robot thingy. The only thing missing was the man wasn't wearing Muslim "garb!"
You blow the guy's "device up before you find him guilty of anything and meanwhile his toilet is leaking like a sieve at home. You figure his wife believed his story when he got there? What would have happened if he had it in his underwear?
