The best buffet restaurants, Sweet Tomatoes, in the Phoenix area will soon be a thing of the past. From now on, I will have to find another favorite restaurant.

If you like Sweet Tomatoes you will likely be pretty unhappy with Field Kitchen. Just another ho hum restaurant now with mediocre overpriced food.
You can still make you own salad, but the choices are extremely limited unless you want to fork over more money and the dressing is horribly watered down and has no flavor.
They try to tell you the price is cheaper now at $6.99 for lunch, but you only get one trip to the salad bar and a one trip small cup of lower quality soup and if you want better you have to pay more for it.
The choices on the salad bar are probably less than half of what the offerings were before unless you want to pay extra for that too.
It's like everything is being rationed now. You are not even allowed to pour your own salad dressing.

There is an automatic gratuity tacked onto your bill now too whether you see a server at your table or not. Which in our case was NOT.
A lot of people walked in and turned around and walked right out while we were still trying to figure out the confusing system.
It seems to me they want to alienate their core customers of families and seniors hoping to capture another clientele. Nothing else makes sense for this drastic change. They should have just upped the price if the bottom line was hurting and it would help make up for the waste. Also I saw an employee walking out the backdoor one day and head to her vehicle with a big bag of cheddar cheese. And I am betting this is not the first time.
Maybe they need to watch the help a little more closely too.
People expect prices to raise in this economy. Every place else is going up and the strong will survive.
Morphing into this undesirable concept is not the answer.

I rate FK one rotten tomato.

Rotten tomatoes is a horrible place. I'd rather not eat out at all if this is the only choice or something similar. If you like a place with lots of salad, little soup bowls with mystery soup, and either fat free or sugar free desserts, you will be in heaven. There's a reason they give two for one coupons. It's not worth the price. It's around $15.00 with drink. You have to pay extra to get a glass where you don't have to get up and refill it yourself.

Even Luby's would be a step up from this place. At least they have servers who refill drinks and with get you to go boxes and are pleasant.
