Skilled-worker shortage looms for U.S.
With baby boomers preparing to retire as the best educated and most skilled workforce in U.S. history, a growing chorus of demographers and labor experts is raising concerns that workers in California and the ...

The only reason LA is becoming a 3rd world city is because of the Illegal aliens. |

Ya, and the story says that they don't qualify, so what do they plan to do? send them to school. Read the story next time. |

South Korean government is forecasting robots will be carrying out routine surgeries by 2018.
This reporter should really get with the times. |

And paid for by the state college system. The young woman that was discussed is a naturalized citizen. However with churches involved how many illegals will be slipped into these programs too. |

It would be interesting to see how far the reporter would be willing to go to "investigate" the robots skill at surgeries.. |
Like a vasectomy maybe? Dr. says, "Sorry, Mr. What. Turned my back for just a moment we had a little "brown out". Would you maybe be interested in some breast implants?" LOL |

How long will it be for the robots to be able to pick ALL the fruit? That sure would make things better. |
Plus, less sanitation issues involved, if what I've been reading is true about some of the illegals and they're sanitation habits. |

I just love your humor! How about a power surge if a vasectomy is the surgery ;-) |

Gagirl, do you know about the News tab above? If you see an article that interest you, just read it, then post a comment. Posting a comment brings the News article into the Forum, and the forum is where most folks look. You may already know about that.. I am just a slow learner and it took me a good while to figure that one out.
BTW what is the weather like there? |

"Just the facts, mam". It even shows the product being dispensed. For some reading on how different the culture really is try distant Neighbors and the book Mexico reader, it will blow your mind. These two books will tell much but not all the differences. One Mexican president Lamented " Mexico, so close to America and so far from God" |
It sure would. Because automation to an employer is like crack to a junkie: Once you get hooked, you keep repeating. Robots will be an employer's wet dream. No workman's comp, no social security, no ever-rising insurance benefits, no lunch breaks, no paychecks, less paperwork like W-2's. Already cracking the hospital setting: http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/29/robots-con... plenty more stuff out there: http://www.acceleratingfuture.com/people-blog... http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/07/06/futur... http://anarchotranshumanism.com/2007/05/01/wi... "Down in the park where the machmen meet the machines are playing kill by numbers...." Let's hope Gary Numan's song doesn't become a telling forecast. ;) |

How about organ transplants? http://www.engadget.com/2005/05/19/da-vinci-r... Mind you the surgeon was controlling the arms movements. We're basically in the Atari 2600 stages of all this, however, it won't take nearly as long to come up to Playstation 3 status in that regard. When computers reach the levels of AI expected here in the near future, that doctor controlling those arms can go and just play golf instead. |

I did read the article. The point I was making is the Illegal aliens have taken over many parts of California and many Americans have left because of the Illegal alien invasion. __________ http://www.journalgazette.net/apps/pbcs.dll/a... "legal and illegal – already constitute almost half the workers in Los Angeles County and are expected to account for nearly all the growth in the nation’s working-age population " “The question is, are we going to be a 21st-century city with shared prosperity, or a Third World city with an elite group on top and the majority at poverty or near poverty wages?” asked Ernesto Cortes Jr., Southwest regional director of the Industrial Areas Foundation, a leadership development organization.“Right now we’re headed toward becoming a Third World city. But we can change that.” |
