Review: Strip Club in St. Paul, carving a chip off an old block.

Customers chow down at the Strip Club in St. Paul. No one has just one restaurant anymore.

When will restaurants figure it out...SERVICE IS THE MAKE OR BREAK component.
I can deal with a high priced menu but mediocre or bad service? NO WAY. I'll take my biz elsewhere.
Don't owners know what thier staff is doing? Are they that blind? Is giving bad service just an inside joke to the staff?

I admit, I've only eaten at the Strip Club once. It was for brunch on a Saturday and the place was pretty empty. However, I got excellent service and the food was in front of me in no time. The food was very good - I plan on going back for dinner soon.

I must be abnormal. Perhaps this is my Aspergers. I don't CARE what the service is like. Anything beyond competent is lost on me. I want decent food at a reasonable price. Then again, I prefer chains to local boutique shops.

The thing that never gets pointed out is what some people may consider poor service could be adequate or even good service to others.
I see it all the time when I go out with my parents. My Mom LOVES it when the server stops and talks, gives you the two-minute run-down of the menu and what they like to eat, and generally becomes another diner at our table. I can't stand it myself. I didn't invite the server to dinner, I invited my parents. I appreciate the friendliness, but make it simple and try to spend as little time at the table as possible and let us eat and conversate in peace.
It's entirely possible that what any of us would consider good or adequate service may be entirely different from what we read here in the paper. From reading, I understand the issue is length of wait for food. It's hard to know, but 45 minutes seems a touch long..... but is that the server's fault or the kitchens? What was ordered? That can make a difference too. More detail would help there.
And in regards to the seating, it's entirely possible that they had two no-shows or late cancellations. What are they supposed to do, have everyone show up and say, "Geez sorry, we guessed someone would cancel and you were last to get there, but we already gave your seat away despite the fact you had reservations."

I love this restaurant and the service has always been better than any other in town. Really, for me it has been outstanding.

You make my head hurt. Mysogonist? If you're looking for it hard enough, you'll find it in the most ridiculous places. I supposed you've never shopped at a strip mall either.
The restaurant is named for their New York strip steak.

I take it then you don't order New York Strip steak....or a a skirt steak....or any other food that might have a "double" meaning?

A sense of humor and playing a name of menu item (New York Strip Steak) in which they specialize is in no way mysoginistic. Lighten up, drop the PC attitude, and enjoy life a little more.

At least she's doing her due diligence, although this may be the only food critic I've ever read who felt the need to mention EVERYTHING ON THE GOD-FORSAKEN MENU.
