While your at, make him give the right of way to Burger King so we have another choice in restaurants in this town. I don't believe Burger King is going to hurt his precious business that much. Wendy's certainly has hurt him.

How can they pinpoint the excess grease is exclusively from McDonald's? There is the Cross Keys Diner and Wendy's in the same general area. What about the Brethren Home? All of those homes may be running grease down their sinks. McDonald's has been at its current location for years. And problem has just popped up recently?

Timeout - If you read the article, you will note the issue has been ongoing since 2004. McDonald's has had to reimburse the township for sewer surcharges. Also, the sewer authority can put cameras down the sewer lines (through manholes) to properly locate the problem. Anyone who knows anything about sewer lines would realize they can pinpoint the exact location of the issue with today's technology. Besides, who would make such a claim before having the evidence to prove the cause of the issue?

Emment Patterson - BIG SHOT!!!! He thinks he and his company can control everything and everyone, including his poor faithful employees, because he is a multi-millionare, but he needs put in his place. Check all the other locations he has, and see if he is violating the waste water treatment laws in Hanover, Gettysburg, and Littlestown, and Penn Township, etc.. BETCHA!!!!!!! Big money breeds big favors. His prices continue to be raised at his locations, does he need some more grease the palm money?

It is about time someone in Hamilton Township has the balls to do what is right. This problem has been ongoing for several years. It is great to see the Township is looking out for the residents instead of themselves as in the past.

i work at this mcdonalds and our equipment is very greasy and when we wash them it has no where else to go but down the drain. we do not pour the grease down our drains just for the fun of it. we have been trying to correct this problem for awhile now, it 's just as easy as it may seem.

OK. Did the township (who might be short on cash) think of the tax revenue they might mis out on if this McDonals closes even for a short time? How about the people who work there, they will loose money and pay less taxes to the revenue authority. Hmm not too bright! Fix the problems and move on! Grease the wheels and move on!

They haven't been doing this so far. Why start now?

I think everyone realizes you aren't "pouring it down the drains". It states in the article that it's from washing equipment and that your fryer oil is stored elsewhere. If the township let this problem go for 4 years than that's just dumb on their part.

The real question should be, why did it take the township supervisors 4 years to force McDs to do something about this? What were they waiting for? Why wasn't a time limit imposed years ago when they first knew there was a problem?
