This country should be called the Suenited States of America. Lady go home.

If she can't hear, even with the help of hearing aids, how is this woman allowed to drive?

Forty nine cent Wednesday wasn't good enough I guess.

Years ago there was pride in a decision when your son or daughter wanted to become a lawyer. Today I believe attorneys are now viewed as scum bags. It's not the lady here wanting to sue, it's the lawyers willing to encourage it! People would never have the nerve or ability to sue like they do today if it were not for the blood sucking lawyers. There are probably a few good attorneys out there but it's ones like this case here that give them all a bad name. The US has become a country where too many want something for nothing on somebody elses efforts. What a shame...

Doesn't sound like anything was denied. I hate people like this. She could have ordered at the speaker. Most, if not all, have the digital display, so she could see/verify her order.
More evidence that when you look around, idiots are everywhere and they will sue. A waste of the courts time A waste of attorney time What is she seeking? Don't even tell me she thinks she is entitled to money. If she is seeking money, she is truly a clown. |

I don't even see how they can consider this not compliant with ADA. The establishment does have ADA availability, just inside. Serously. Why would you try to use an outside speaker system when you are deaf? That is how you order...not at the window. That is why walkers are not allowed to walk up to the window and order. Just park your lazy butt and walk inside and order. Sometimes, you have to do that. I can't believe she is completely exploiting her disability like this. What a dirt bag. |
Mike, it most certainly is the woman's fault. Instead of getting upset, swearing never to go to McD's again and driving off she called and attorney. She is special but how much does society have to do? We have wheelchair ramps at curbs and businesses. We have extra wide bathroom stalls, lowered urinals and braille at ATM's. Let's be reasonable and start punishing these lawyers and blood suckers when they lose in court. This is a result of a liberal society that tells people they are entitled to everything. |

More proof that this country and its citizens are losing their pride and sense of ethics.
"Hmmm, I'm deaf and these people are not catering to me. How can I get something from free?" She could take an extra 2 minutes and go inside and order the damn food! But no, lets make McDonalds spend millions outfitting their drive-thrus for a few people. Ridiculous! We will have stupid lawsuits as long as it is easy to do so. Make the losing party pay all court costs like they do in England - that stop these frivolous suits. |

So beacause of one lazy person the habits of thousands and a system that has existed for 40 years must be changed?

This makes as much sense as the iiot who tried to sue McDonald's for being fat.

Another greedy lawyer with hands out embracing a sucker!

Anyone who eats at Mc Donald’s is disabled…

Why would anyone use the drive thru window. 9 out of 10 times the order is not correct and with the price of gas over $4.00 a gallon, it could cost you more than the $1.00 double cheeseburger. I always go inside, pull every burger out, remove the buns and check for accuracy. Recently I had to send the order back 3 times at McDonalds and they finally got it right on the 4th try. Do they throw all the wrong orders away?

Sorry babe, this ain't Burger King.
You can't have it your way. |

I'm deaf,
I'm dumb, I can hardly drive, I can't order at a drive thru window, No one can understand me, Life is frustrating, I'm frustrated with life, No one wants to help me, I'm calling my lawyer, I'm going to court, My lawyer says that money will make me so happy that when I win I'll have enough to buy TWO hearing aids! |

I'm sure she needs a Happy Meal

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! Are we sure this isn't the same woman who sued McDonalds because she spilled hot coffee on herself? DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Glad you reminded me...I better get going |

The ADA laws call for businesses to provide for "reasonable" accomodations to those workers and patrons that have disabilities. That does not mean that every single aspect of a company's business requires ADA accessibility. It is entirely possible and reasonable to expect drive throughs aren't designed for those who: don't have a driver's license and can't drive, don't have a car, are blind or hearing impaired. But, in-store access does provide for those with the two physical disabilities included in the above. This will, most likely, be considered a frivolous lawsuit that will be dismissed. Unfortunately, for a favorable courtroom decision, McDonald's will be forced to commit significant legal defense resources to obtain their "win". The plantiffs attorney is probably working pro bono or on consignment and book rights.
