I opposed Issue 3 because it tries to sew up a monopoly to make a small number of people wealthy. Well, now that it's passed, I support every single slot machine and gambling outlet opportunity to come along.

Let's flood the market with slot machines. Put them in the grocery stores and laundromats. Hell, let's put them in the school lunchrooms. The kids will be paying for their own education.

<quoted text>Did you say fun? fun? Do you mean that fun became legal here in Ohio. Yay, we can now have some fun here in the peoples' republic of Ohio. But one question. Is fun still regulated by the state? If so, to what degree? I just thought I'd have a little bit of unauthorized fun. he he he.
I like that! The Peoples Republic of Ohio. How true! How true!

If you voted against it, stay home.

Issue #3 carried because the casino people did their homework. They pushed in the two areas with the largest populations. They won the three largest counties, one in the cleveland area and two in the cinny area. If these 3 counties had voted 51% to 49% infavor of the casinos instead of 59% to 41% the issue would have failed. Give the casino owners credit they were smarter then the voters. Now we have to live with this vote, the only hope we have is that legislators are as smart as the casino owners and pass legislation that will regulate these casinos and get us our fair share of the tax money not 33% which is the lowest tax rate in the U.S.

Unfortunately they are not slots. Nor are they VLT's. They are just computers with gaming software. Big difference.

the question i have is,(i assume these "sweepstake drawings" are national):

1) are the odds based on how many are playing?
2) are the odds better, worse or same as slots?
3) is there just one "winner" per "drawing" or are there multiple smaller winners too??

if you read the article you would see that it is run over the internet as a "sweepstakes" drawling and the winner is predetermined before you even spin the reels.

Why? When I go to a casino I rarely lose at the end of the night. You people cry and complain that casinos win 100% of the time. It's simply not true. Just more scare tactics and unproven hype from sore losers. I guess I see why you think you'd lose everything if you walked into a casino, you have a loser mentality. They house has a slightly higher than 50% edge on most games. If you're a smart player, you're able to tip the odds in your favor.

Joseph - Are you positive that they are deemed slots? Seeing as how slots are illegal in Ohio.

Skill Games With Prizes : The skill games exploit a loophole in state law by relying partly on player skill, thereby getting around the ban on purely chancebased games such as slot machines. Although lawmakers banned cash payouts in 2007 in an attempt to regulate the skill machines out of business, hundreds remain in operation

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Leo

A loved one is being rather tetchy today. It won't take much to get on their nerves, even if you think they're being grossly unfair about it. Try not to make the situation worse by being sarcastic or provocative. Instead, encourage them to tell you what's wrong but without raising their voice. Once you know what you've done to irritate them you can start to put it right.
