Ask the critic: Readers want answers to their dining-out questions

Full story: TwinCities.com

Q. Is there a restaurant in the Twin Cities that sells lobster rolls like the kind you buy on the coast of Maine? I can make them myself, but getting the meat out of the lobsters is such a chore.

Frankly, there hasn't been a really good fast food restaurant since The Clock (two Mpls. locations) closed in the late 60s/early 70s. One of the things I remember best is that the saying, "Clean your clock" never originated at these places, because they were filthy. Also, none of the help ever won an award for personal hygene. However, they had better burgers than McDonald's. Does anyone remember the Henry's chain? They went out of business shortly after it was reported that at the location on Larpenter Avenue in St. Paul employees were depostiting various bodily fluids in the shake and orange drink machines.

I was shocked when I went into the Gopher Bar and and saw the "Joker" poster of President Obama. Of course, nothing negative about any Republicans! They are all perfect (especially Palin). I will not eat there again. I didn't like it when people disrespected President Bush and it's just as bad when they disrespect President Obama.

Tres Leches at Cafe Latte is terrible!!! Waxy and tasteless. Go to Lake Street Mercado Central. You can get an entire sheet cake covered in colorful rows of fresh fruit. Serve with coffee spiked with cinnamon; sabroso;)

Scotch eggs are all over West 7th in St Paul. They are super cheap on happy hours.

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Aquarius

This is a good day for getting on with chores and mundane tasks. You'd much rather get them out of the way than have them hanging over you for any longer than necessary. What's more, you don't want to waste your time by doing things in the wrong order or by being so slapdash that you have to do something a second time. You're setting a terrific example right now!
