I assumed Peta, Ascpa, and Hsus, rescued the animal and placed it, they just take it back and kill it. The animal had rather be abused, than killed. The people of the USA need to quit supporting these bogus animals rescude.

<quoted text>Wayne Pacelle does not dispute the $250,000 annual salary figure, but noted that his was the lowest of leaders of comparable organizations — just a third that of some.“I have very consciously asked the board to keep my salary lower than the industry standard,” he stated. The 2008 HSUS tax return shows his base salary was below $250,000, and with all benefits came in at $252,000.
For any CEO to rake in less than a million per year is considered a pittance. Further, depending on where a person lives, the salary has to support that area. Consider California and the pay as an example. 250k hardly supports the cost of an average priced home. Maybe in your neck of the woods, taking into consideration taxes, gas, home prices, etc, 250k might sound like a whole lot. But in reality, in many areas, that salary is considered middle class.

Not exactly. More than 87% of funds goes to education, investigations, and helping animals.

The way that not for profit salaries work is that each not for profit has to make public the top 5 salaries. the rest remain private. often the higher ups in the entities also serve on boards for other not for profits and collect a salary from them as well. As long as that salary is not one of the top 5 salaries for the other entity, it is only known to the irs. while newkirk says she only makes 27k from peta, she makes money from the other entities. newkirk has made a ton of money on the ara movement.
