Cedar Point leaves main ticket price unchanged

“If there was a way to raise prices and Cedar Point felt comfortable with it, they would had done it”

When Cedar Point announced yesterday it was holding the line on its main ticket price for 2008, amusement park consultants weren't surprised. via Akron Beacon Journal

$43 to get admitted plus $9 to park your car, then an $5 hot dog,$4 french fries, and $4 drink plus the $20 in gas to get you there. Your typical family of 4 will spend $250 for the day or so. How many people can or will afford to pay $250 for a day at Cedar Point with the recession coming on? Cedar Point will come up the loser again.

I have to agree.$43 for admission plus the high cost of everything else is outragous! I can think of better ways to spend that kind of green than standing in long lines for 2 hours waiting to get on a 30 second ride! What a rip off. It may be worth the price if it also included the waterpark though!

People choose to spend their discretionary funds on what makes them happy. Some like amusement parks, others like sporting events (which would cost about the same), and some people (like OMG) have no discretionary funds so they just complain about those who have it.

Those guy that run Cedar Fair are shrewd and cunning. They'll get your dollar one way or another. Note how they waited until the last to announce the rate schedule. Are all you suckers ready?

I actually went to Cedar Point last year after not having gone in about 5 years. The place was not what I had remembered. Too many roller coasters and not much else to do for those of us who get ride sickness or like to see shows and other forms of entertainment. The park was dirty and the workers nasty to the customers. They don't even have a good restaurant in the park anymore except a TGI Friday's chain in the Breaker's. I won't be back. Cedar Point attendance dropped 2.5% in 2007 so I guess I'm not alone.

Good for you? Do you want a cookie?

Cedar point calls itself "America's roller coast"... leading me to believe that roller coasters are the direction of the park. If you are too afraid to break a hip to ride, then stay away!

We go only to ride the coasters, leaving home any kids who won't ride them. Top Thrill Dragster and Millenium Force are well worth the price of admission. Kiddie Land is still open on Tiedeman Rd. for the rest of you, I think.

Cedar point is one of the very few reasons people from out of state come to Ohio. It is one of our few tourist attractions.$43 dollars is not high compared to many other amusment parks. That said, I used to love the rides, until I had kids, now I puke:( But I grew up in the Cleveland area and spent many a years at Kiddie land. My kids have been there as well. But the Hubby LOVES Cedar point, without his lame Wife. He rides the rides with our oldest munchkin who is just now tall enough to ride them.
