Yeah. Kookaburra's laugh with their bills shut. Great tag line for the picture. It would look more accurate if they said SEAWORLD STAFFER ABOUT TO DEVOUR AUSTRALIAN BIRD.

How much did the breakfast cost the Orlando/Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau members? Sounds like a bribe to me.

The real bribe probably took place when the Orange County Commissioners approved Sea World building their water park right on top of/immediately adjacent to a residential community.

wow, people really need to CHILLAX!
whether it was copied or not it looks good and i guess the surrounding residents can start getting annual tickets to Aquatica or start planning to move out. if i had a billion bucks i'll invest into getting a billion more. plus seaworld is better than disney or universal. it has a show whale! and now you can slide down almost next to dolphins, very creative. how about that!

If I lived near there, you couldn't give me enough free tickets to soften having to live next to a water park- or any theme park, for that matter. As far as the people who live there moving out- talk about easier said than done- how desirable to you think homes next to a water park will be for any potential buyers?? Maybe Sea World should offer all area home owners at least a half million for each home- then Sea World could plow over the ENTIRE residential area and build even MORE! After all, it's ALL about tourists and ONLY about tourists in this town, since time and time again, the powers that be have made it quite clear that they couldn't care less about the people who actually LIVE here!

Hey, you! I was born and raised in Orlando, and my parents still live there. My husband, daughter and I now live in Melbourne. My husband still works in downtown Orlando and says when he cross the St. John's River every night, it feels like he is on vacation. I have always loved Orlando, but it has definitely changed. The crime is awful and so is the traffic. If you get tired of the mayhem, come on over! We could use somemore nice guys over here!

That's quite a bit of commuting, huh? I WISH I could move out of Orlando- I really do. But my husband's business is in Kissimmee, and I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. This town has really changed in the 13 years I've lived here- the overdevelopment has choked a decent quality of life out of this town, and what makes it even worse is all the new developing- homes, offices, retails stores- that sit EMPTY!! Even the new Convention Center was not really needed- the original one is never filled to capacity, and the new one has very little going on....just more government/developer corruption. But, we have to say put- at least for now, but thanks for the invitation!:-)

Maybe those people should have figured out that they were eventually going to build something on that land.

Luckily, he's in the fire service and gets early retirement, so five more years and he can get a job over here, where the pay is much less! Hence, the need to commute! But he stays with my parents twice a week to save gas. Good thing he loves his inlaws!

No- not "long" before.....the community that is surrounded by Sea World was built 30 years ago- I don't think Sea World was there that much more before that. And of course, back in 1978, Sea World had no idea of what they were going to do, so.....And it didn't HAVE to be a water park- I had actually heard rumors that Sea World was thinking of building something like an outdoor museum with animals, nature trails, etc. Seems to me that Sea World is not being a very good neighbor, and I'm sure none of the Sea World execs would want to live so close to a water park either.

Sure is a good thing that he loves his in-laws, but just as important is them loving him and having him as a house guest a couple of nights a week!:-)

We have annual passes to Sea World and seriously intend to upgrade if the offer is decent. Where did all those residents live prior to their moving to this area. By the way this is on land stolen from the Indians. What did they get?

And I guess then that Sea World is also on land stolen from the Indians, as is where you live, so I don't see the point of your comments.

But at least that hideous (you're so right about that!) rollercoaster is not on the same side as the water park, and I'm sure its location provides a buffer to the community nearby... I really feel sorry for the people that live near there, and while I am really not a fan of any of the theme parks, Sea World has ALWAYS been my least favorite, and now, I will NEVER go there since the last thing I want to do is add to what will most likely be a completely negative impact on the quality of life for the people who DO live there! I just can't imagine living that close to a water park and I can't imagine anyone else wanting to live that close to one either.
