Years ago, I got ripped off on a property purchase where I was represented by a realtor I sought out because he was gay. I don't think it is necessary to specifically seek out a gay person for this kind of business. If one has the intelligence to do a little research online, one can find out whether an area has a lot of gay people. Furthermore, for gays living in a large city, the question nowadays should be WHY they want to live in a gay ghetto. These are often the LEAST safe places to be as gay-bashers tend to seek out areas with a large and visible gay presence.

Later on I lived in a wonderful house in Chicago for twelve years in an area that many gay people were totally unfamiliar with and which would not have even been considered trendy until about two years before I sold the place. I never experienced anything even resembling a hate crime. While I do not see a need to put rainbow flags in my window, I was not in the closet there either. I should also mention that when I moved in, the area was largely made up of older blue collar types.

When I read reports of hate crimes, it seems the pattern, in at least the cases of the ones that make the news, is that they either occur in gay ghettos near bars on the one hand or in rural areas with lots of religious or redneck types on the other.

I would not support anyone JUST because they are gay. They need to prove themselves. If I were looking for a realtor, I'd rather get references from people who have used on in the area I am looking.

Hetero or Gay, Real Estate Brokers and Loan Brokers are parasitic borderline sociopaths.
