And you've lived here how long? Hillbilly. |

1 Same thing with Aeropostale and American Eagle, they will just move to the strip centers, that's where all the new stores are going anyway. Give it a couple of years for these stores to get out of their leases and that mall will be dead dead dead. It's not that Chambersburg doesn't have money or doesn't shop, it's that the mall sucks so much that the people here drive to Hagerstown or just shop at the new centers on Norland. That mall is almost 30 years old.....it's time to be either renovated or torn down. Simple as that. |

Hey JJ, are you really a member of that pathetic excuse for a country club? People complain about bad restaurants in Chambersburg.....the CC is the WORST. They haven't had decent food in about 10 years. Theres not one thing snooty or elitest about that place...they are BEGGING for members. So much so that the decent, small group that used to be there is watered downtown golf-cart driving trash. And if you think that recycled bar from the old Applebees is upscale or snotty, then maybe the goold old CCC is just for you! |

That's an excellent question. As a new resident of Greene Twnshp myself, I finally have a say in this. I will contact the supervisors and get back to you all. It's time to modernize this community... which has so much potential. |

May I suggest you starting a new thread with this information? I thought your previous post was a great break down on how and why things are the way they are. It is hard for me to believe that our fellow neighbors wouldn't want more growth at and near the mall, since the obvious alternative is that it will close. Do you know if there has been any proactive groups advocating/educating people on this issue? I am thinking.. getting personal and going door to door vs making fliers or holding meetings> It is time for a change! |

Agreed and it would be nice to hear from a Greene representative on this. I think that those us, here on the Internet, likely represent a more progressive, younger generation of township residents. That said, I think we're vastly outnumbered by retirees and fine folks who just want things to stay the way they are. The thing is, their voice is stronger than ours... especially in the voting booth. But with a little information and public support, I think we can easily show that many of us are ready for a change and willing to do something about it. |

we would like to go into the mall again but the rent is rediculous. The owners of our mall have distroyed it out of greed. This is a community an we all should work together to improve .....

How much?
What exactly are we talking here? |
