If the bod would fire Mr. Idiotson and do a good job finding just the right replacement it isn't too late. If reports that he is being given ANOTHER(!) SIX MONTHS are correct then all is lost.

If MoRon Johnson isn't replaced soon all is lost. I've watched a lot of hard working people walked out the door because of this idiots pipe dream. While the fat cat board feels no need to intervene, if appropriate measures aren't taken soon we all (including the board) will be looking for jobs... Oh yea, the disclaimer.... These are my personal views and do not represent those of jcp..... Gotta keep my job.

Its possible the board is gambling the company that ron johnson will really reinvent retail wth the knowledge he may fail.

But believing the value of the real estate is high enough to cover the losses, and by making big bucks on the distressed company.

Its sad that anyone would gamble with so many peoples lives:( I once worked for a company that closed. Each week more were let go. Companies become a family to workers. Its tough watching your family get decimated......

When I left JCP for another position 2 years ago the company was thriving. Great merchandise promotions, a customer service focused environment and a true middle American department store. When I heard Ron Johnson was going to an everyday low pricing stategy it reminded me of what Sears did may years ago andthat too was a disaster. It's a shame that this "genius" of a CEO and the middle age boy wonder that he believes he is didn't do his homework on the history of retail. In addition, what's with the "It's my way or the highway" management style. It's time someone shows Ron Johnson the highway. While he is making $50 plus million, having his home remodeled with company funds and jetting back and forth to Plano, hard working people are losing their jobs and those that are still employed are in fear waiting for their pink slips.
It may sound corny but this Company that I worked for 30 plus years was founded on the Golden Rule...Treat others as you want to be treated. I guess this concept is just too far beneath and not worthy of the self delusional and 'I'm smarter than everyone else' Ron Johnson.
And just one more side comment...even with the new limited "sales" he's implmenting, the stores are so understocked that it will be nearly impossible to show the significant sales growth needed to make the required improvements.
Not a fan of the ceo

Competeing retailers never cross hire meaning you are full of it
Keep your so called "golden rule" blah propaganda out here when the facts are its a gay issue
JCP ran family oriented consumers away with its pro gay attitude
JCP and liberals...

Whoever commented about JCPenney running customers away with their pro gay attitude is totally missing the point. This is not a gay or straight issue. This has to do with the vision, that's not working by the way, of the new CEO, Ron Johnson. If however you are not shopping at JCP because of your misguided beliefs then that is your choice. It's a free country and you are free to shop wherever you want and free to boycott because of your beliefs.

The one thing you may want to consider is that the vast majority...probably more that 95% of the associates who may lose their jobs due to Ron Johnson are straight...with families.

So not sure what you mean about "competing retailers never cross hire and you are full of it" nor do I care. Still, you are free to express your beliefs...free country, right. I do have to say that the golden rule is not propaganda as you have trivialized but a way of life that most of us have chosen to follow...and what we should expect from our neighbors, friends, family, others that we meet on a day to basis and especially our government leaders and our employers.

i dont care WHAT ANYONE DOES IN THE PRIVACY OF THEIR BEDROOM, but was personally offended by those adds:( Stores should avoid being pro anything like that!

Of course Ron has done near everything wrong and JCP sales prove that! If the board gives him a additional 6 months to prove his grand reinventing retail has failed. There will be nothing left of the company:(
