Yes, people. Please use John Hummer's company for all your future honest and decent rentals. Sales are really down on Hummer properties and owners are switching in droves to rent instead of sell.
Please call Hummer's companies. All offices are taking rentals.

HA!!!! call john hummer's companies for "honest and decent rentals."???? nothing against the realtors at those offices, but there is nothing honest about hummer. next time you want to solicit business, use the agency name, not the name of a well known crook.

those fake rental ads have been running in craigslist for over a year now.

If you send someone $1000.00 without ever meeting them or seeing the product (house, car, etc.) then you deserve to lose it. Use some common sense people. Craigslist ads are probably 80% scams anyway.

yes they have. if not longer. i replied to an ad over a year ago and it was people in south africa who were trying to rent a house and wanted me to send the money so they could mail the keys as soon as possible. knew with that and how persistant they were being it wasn't true. i agree with the other post too, use a little common sense, oh yeah, common sense is uncommon, what was i thinking.

We were on the opposite side of this con. Our house is for sale and ended up on craigslist for rent by the same people allegedly on a mission. People were showing up all the time. One time someone just walked in thinking it was a vacant house for rent. Sorry about the dog bite, but seriously people a 4 bedroom house for rent in Highrange for $600? That should have been your first sign it was a scam.

"One family ... from southern California..."

Says it all for me. I didn't even need to get to that line before I said it to myself.

Another past-trend, in other areas, for these folks is to buy sight unseen and rent it out to tenants sight unseen.

Your imagination can show you the results of that...

This scam was going on in ABQ last year. My sister thought she found a deal of a lifetime, but after reading the emails I told her it was bogus. It was exactly the same scheme as this one.
