The recidivism rate among child predators is about 43%. The US Department of Justice has indicated that the average child molester commits 380 acts of child molestation during his or her lifetime. I would imagine that Mr. Peek is at least of "average" predator. Perhaps with some encouragement from friends, family and the community, his other victims will feel able to talk about what might have been done to them. Let's let the judge decide what is done to Mr. Peek. Hopefully a long sentence that will keep him off the street.

I'm surprised to see all these comments from you folks from outside of Sleepyville. What, is there no crime in your little ATL burbs for you to worry about?

There is crime all over the U.S. , even in Garland, TX. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't draw attention to a man who is soliciting children. No crime is victimless. Crimes against children or especially vicious. Though this was a sting, and no 14 yo girl was involved, Mr. Peek sure thought that he was going to meet a 14 year old. I have a 14 year old and I don't think he would care if it was my 14 year old, or yours. Let him rot in hell.

the man who raped the two children was reported but you can thank the local police back then who did nothing I think they should have let him loose on main street and let the town people take care of him don't blame meI did my part but some people can get away with anything and he is one of them and Jule Peek will fall in the same steps

Mr. Peek has confessed and is taking reponsibility for his actions. Let the courts take it from here. I am concerned because all across America the internet has brought porn into our homes and is causing people to solicit sex from their computer. This exposes children to all kinds of sexual crimes. Our congressmen need to force porn and sexual solicitation off the internet and make a law to stop it. Where are you congressmen?

Sarcasm that doesnt make sense! I voted Obama but that has nothing to do with judging a child molestor or simply putting the name out for others to be aware of. I am not holding hands and singing anything with a predator. If you think that is equivilent with voting obama, then you need to read a little further.

We also need to open communication up with our children to ensure their safety. These type of sex crimes have always been around. Only now its easy access on the internet, but people have molested and been incestual since the beginning of time. We are taught shame, etc and no one talks about the issues. I say lets work on laws, but also work on talking in your families and fighting this sickness in that manner. People avoid the topic and those that have been offended against do not get help. Some keep the secret for many years. Work on communication and seeking treatment for the survivor of the crime!

So what ever happened to Julius Peek? Was he convicted? It seems to have fallen off the radar.

I doubt it's made it to court yet; sure he's plead not guilty

he apparently has already admitted his guilt (according to the newspaper immediately after arrest) The question is will Jule get him off?

Those Peeks! They always seem to be into something.
Everyone agrees, he deserves jail time butI doubt he'll see one day behind bars.
Thye are too influential, contribute a LOT of money to civic affirs and too many people in that county owe Little Jule.
You may escape justice this time, but judgement day is coming.

Who owes little jule. He has done as much damage as his father, just in a more subtle manner. Little Jule will do anything for a buck, regardless of the ethics involved. Perhaps he learned his morals and ethics from his father. I hope his father does do time. The affluent cannot expect to be able to "buy" or "influence" their way out of trouble. We should all be held to the same standard. We are all created equally.

I hear he is glad to have been caught so he can spend more time with his family. I am sure they prayed about his failure. Who did he pray to before he got caught Hugh Hefner.......
