It's not the end of the world to sell in the winter, but it's not ideal either depending on the type of property.
You may want to ensure you engage your agent right away to also take pics of your property: gardens, decks, pools etc. when the weather is nice...or on a nice day.
It's always tough for people to visualize what a property could look like when the weather is nice...if they can't see it in some way shape or form.
Warm and cozy is also important. I'm sure the agent you choose to work with can provide some great tips for open houses: warm drinks, festive treats for children etc.
Bottom line is: there is likely less inventory in your neighborhood, so staged correctly and having the right tools in place could actually make it advantageous for you. Make sure your agent has a good marketing plan to ensure maximizing traffic as well.

In order to sell a house in winter these tips may be helpful o you in order to get good profit from property. Property should be made up in good region. It has nice court and witness should authenticate location along with nice neighbourhood.Legal agreement in order to justify your authority over property. Proper representation and last point is to hire a real estate agent who can sell your property in a good profit.

Continually shovel a path through the snow, especially if it's still falling.

Turn on every light in the house, including appliance lights and closet lights.

Its better to heat the house a degree because its a winter time and it should be some what heat in the rooms so that buyer will feel that it is not a cold day.

Make your living room something special by placing champagne glasses near a champagne bucket on the coffee table so its look quite special when people are visiting

Have a soft music

Display photographs showcasing your summer flower gardens and lush green lawns.

Make your house to look good
1. Wash windows
2. Clean out cobwebs.
3. If necessary, re-caulk tubs, showers and sinks.
4. Polish chrome faucets and mirrors.
5. Clean out the refrigerator.
6. Vacuum daily. If your carpeting is plush,vacuum in one direction.
7. Wash and wax floors.
8. Dust furniture, ceiling fan blades and light fixtures.
9. Bleach dingy grout.
10. Empty trash and recycling bins.
11. Serve some hot foods(Hot soups, for those who visit your home
