Hello, My name is Carmen, it was winter of 1981, before moving to San Diego. I moved in with my sister and her husband, who had just moved in to an old 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house with a basement. I remember the name of the street was, F st in Stockton Ca. I can't recall the house number but I could if I need too. Before my sister moved in we both went to paint the house on a sunny day. When my sis and I walked in the house I started to feel uneasy. Not sure what it was, because I had just had a baby and was now separated from my husband at that time. So my emotions and awareness made me question myself. The moment we started to paint I was on the ladder and talking to my sister, when I stepped down from the ladder and my foot right into the 1 gallon open paint can. The wiered part of this the gallon of paint had been closed and placed in the corner while we were using smaller paint jars to do the walls. I looked at my sis and asked her ,with a foot full of paint, why she did that? Of course, she was clear in the other side of the room and was impossible she could of done it. We didn't think much of it. But it didn't stop there, after moving in, 2nd bedroom my new baby and I were sleeping in was right next to the kitchen. After everyone would be asleep I would hear women talking, pots and pan banging. It didn't scare me at the time because my sister's church made tamales weekly to sell for funds towards the church. The next day before leaving for work I made a comment to my sister about the noise being made by them in the middle of the night. She answered there was no one making tamales last night. Being in a hurry to leave I didn't really hear her. This continued every night with the sounds being heard very clearly even to the point of waking up my baby. By the time I would get up in the morning I would forget to ask my sis how was cooking the night before.. There is so much more details I can share about this house, I will share one more before I close. My sister allowed me to use the basement as storage for thing like my wooden clock,(that I still have till this day) my wooden dinning table with chairs. and some many other things. It was raining hard for 3 days in Stockton. One evening after coming home from work, I decided to go to the basement to get something for the baby, everything was underwater. I panic and ran upstairs to get my brother n law, who happen to be drunk at the time. And I insisted he help me move my stuff to the garage. My sofas, table, etc etc. When my sis came home I was in tears telling her what happen. She comforted me and told me that in the morning we would see what is worth keeping etc. Well, the next day when we went to the basement, the water was gone and all my belongings were dry. Nothing was damaged at all. I went to my Bro n law, to ask him if he recalls what happen the night before and of course he didn't. There is so much more. The funny part of it my sister, husband and their 2 young children never felt anything. But I kept on telling my sister this house is haunted and she would disregarded. The last night I was there, I left running and screaming. Because I couldn't ignore it anymore.. thank you for letting me share.. If anyone wants the exact number of the house or know about the house on F st in Stockton Calif. please let me know. I live in San Diego now but I have never forgotten what happen. This is my first time sharing my story online..

I am currently living in a haunted house i had it confirmed with paranormal investigators just recently. I don't know what happened here but from my experience living in the home, the supernatural is something not to be messed with. they can make you sick, maybe crazy, but for sure can follow you and make your life miserable. This is a duplex in north stockton, california it has been labeled unlivable by numerous mediums. I am in the process of moving and I pray for the next family that moves in this home.

What would you like to know?
There was a time when I was by myself in this house. I had just came home from Longs Drugs, I had brought home 2 items deoderent and something else can't remember right now. It was early evening I put the deoderent (which at the time the bottle were made out of glass) I put the items on the dresser and turned around to change my closes. And suddenly both item were on the floor broken,(shattered) I knew that I put them on the dresser next to the wall and not the edge so they can fall. At that moment my sister arrived with the kids I was in tears telling her what had happen. My sister just would make light of it. She would say things like, "Carmen, You know you are going through alot emotionally." Stop doing this to yourself. There is still so much more to this house on F st in Stockton.

I lived on Pershing close to the UOP Stadium and there has been paranormal activity in that house and continues to be. I mean sliding-doors slamming, whispers, objects moving, sometimes just that "feeling", and then a few times actual apparitions. My parents still live there. My dad denies everything, but my mom often experiences something. Lots of our guests have also told us that they feel "something funny" in the home.

There is also another home that I wonder about that is in Stockton. Don't know the address, but its a corner house on Pershing that is across the street from Victory Park at the light. The house appears to be a one story house and it has an "S" on the front window. This house has continuously been bought and sold. It has never been occupied more than a year (at least that's what I have noticed). Has anyone ever noticed this house?

the story of the house at 1002 pershing in stockton is. that the house was built for the orginal owners bride. on their wedding she didn't show , he went home an hanged himself in the upstairs closet. I have lived in stockton my whole life and this is the story I've heard for many years. true or not , I don't know. but it's given the house a life of it;s own.

Hi Sandra. I'm throwing this in because yours is the first 'story' I've heard that seemed relative. Check this out..
*It's a late wednesday night in September, 1993.
Four of us were traveling from Sac. to Oakdale via Mariposa rd.(all sober) After crossing the Jacktone rd. intersection (once Collegeville)three of us witnessed a woman in a wedding dress on the passenger's side of the road. She was holding her dress to keep from falling as she darted first toward the road then of into the night. This location is about 10 minutes from the Pershing house. Hmmmm?

Since childhood I have felt, seen, and heard spirits. You would be surprised how many areas of stockton,ca. is haunted! Bear Creek H.S.(Indian burial ground), downtown on Weber Avenue; next to Gil's Auto the old house, 836 E. Weber. Many other businesses and homes stretching from Eight Mile Road to the County Hospital.

Well, my dad recently purchased the home. It has been up for sale several times since it was first built. In fact, no one has lived there for longer than six years since 1923. Those home owners lived there for six years in 1923. I really want to know the history behind this house, but truly I have been having difficulty. We have had no paranormal activity since restoring the house, but we have heard that the house is haunted by a young child.
The house has bad foundation problems due to the buses on Pershing so while walking down the hallways you feel as if someone is pushing you down. The electrical is messed up, so when you turn on a light in the kitchen a light in the bedroom turns on. The house certainly has a spooky feeling about it, as you walk down the spiral staircase to the basement there is writing on the wall that says "Hi" that is crossed out and "Bye" under it. It looks like crayon, and was probably written by a kid, but as far as creepy goes thats it.
I personally believe that the neighbors have come to their own conclusions because the frequent sale and resale of this home. We have a paranormal investigator coming to check it out so time will tell. I am attempting to do some of my own research on the history.

Hi Everyone - I know it may sound silly, but I was interested in the house at 1002 N. Pershing Ave in Stockton. I've talked to several neighbors, they tell me it's haunted, but won't tell me why.
Anyone have any history on this house? Did something awful happen there a while ago? It is a "friendly ghost" or are we talking Amityville horror? Are the neighbors just paranoid?

There is no upstairs in that home. It is the basement you are talking about. I heard it was a young boy seen in the window, could be the widow, in the attic.

Do you know anything about the house on the corner of pershing and acacia. The one you described. My family owns the house now and is restoring it. I don't believe it is haunted, but we only have spent minimal time in there as we are just restoring it. I feel it might be cursed. My daughter nearly drowned and almost died a few weeks after we got the keys, my husband was out of work for almost the whole summer, but then again no real bad luck has struck my dad the home owner. Do you know anything about the neighbors? Email me at [email protected]

The Collegeville Cemetary is infamous for hauntings and just plain creepiness. Most of the headstones have been destroyed and the place is in shambles, probably due to vandalism. The cemetary itself dates back to the late 1800's. I have personally seen old county records from the 30's that reported "grave robbing" at the Collegeville cemetary.
My interest in the cemetary came because of an experience that I had there. About 20 years ago I was there with four other people as part of a scavenger hunt game and I beleive I also witnessed the appearance of a female figure in wedding type clothing. Of course I am the only one who saw her or at least was willing to admit seeing her. I was standing with another girl near a tree, near the entrance facing south; I was just glancing around while waiting for the people I was with when I saw the figure standing near the southeast corner of the cemetary. At first I thought it was from a light across the street, but when I looked away and then back, it looked different it had a human form. Oddly enough, I wasn't scared I just couldn't stop looking at it. I asked the girl next to me what it was, but she didn't know what I was talking about. When I looked at her and then looked back to where the figure was, it was gone. I still to this day believe that the girl standing next to me saw it too, but would not say she did.
I have gone back to the cemetary several times over the years, but I have never seen anything again. After analyzing it for 20 years, I beleive I saw a female figure dressed in a long wedding style or an ornate full gown. I assume it was white but just the figure itself was glowy or like a light, so I really don't know. I also have spoken to other people who have had similar experiences to mine at this particular cemetary. I was never a skeptic or a believer, I just really never thought about it. I have never experienced anything else like this, but I have met and spoke to several other people who have.
Just for the record, I am a normal, educated person, who has always led a normal life except this one little event, which I truly believe was real.
