Was there some sort of medical emergency that required a lot of money? What more is there to know about this? There has to be more to know to understand and judge this whole thing fairly.

Ok think about this. The big banks swindled us, the investment companies robbed us, and the executives got more of our money to celebrate their wealth, because they were too big to fail, but this lady makes some minute wrong turns in comparison and her whole life is destroyed.
