This is just the tip of the iceberg. Their supplier department is riddled with corruption. Senior management knows of it but refuses to do anything about it.
So what happened to Charlie

John Arcario was let go, but he was not shown the door by security. It was amicable. Also, Charlie retired. Domestic volume is down but international volume is up. Stock is at a high and housing market is turning around. Cartus is doing nothing different than admired companies such as Google and Apple. Cut the fat to ensure they are sustainable and profitable.
All these negative comments and Cartus survived one (if not the worst) housing market disasters in history where their business relies on it. I think they know more than most posters on here and comments becoming more of jealousy than anything else.

When you get your notice let everyone know. Nobody is safe and the stock of the parent company has nothing to do with the toenail on the foot of the giant that cartus is. Be informed not ignorant.

Big layoffs in Danbury. Real estate department getting eliminated. 21 specialists and 2 managers are gone by month's end.

These are very experienced, tenured people who have been laid off. Sad day, again.

Looks like it's the two RES teams that handle home marketing. Responsibilities are being given to the consultants. I wish KK, BW and PD had done more to find them spots in other departments, but as Top Hatter said above, the teams hit are all very experienced and skilled. They will land on their feet.

Yup, the company is jettisoning some very skilled workers right out the door. And from what I've heard, the consultants are nervous because many of them have never done marketing and now rush trainings are set up so they can learn it all by October 1st. No idea how anybody can be expected to take over what is basically a brand new job so quickly. The company is just a joke overall.

sad to see this once great company losing their way and their place in the rankings amongst the best relo companies. The lack of caring and overall recognition of what the front line people do is nothing less than disgraceful. would like to see sr leadership just one day sit at a consultants desk and see what they deal with on a daily basis. Without these people , there would be no business. Cartus stopped caring about their employees and their customers long ago and now its all about the budget. Good luck - without talented consultants you have no business. this is a sinking ship with an increasingly tenuous reputation If they don't care to know what their own employees feel then ask the clients who pay the bills - they are even asking what is going on. PLEASE someone with some business sense SAVE IS PLACE. Take a lesson from Sam Walton or anyone who has run a successful company-how much farther do you need to sink

Add to the layoffs the fact that Operations people are now leaving on their own to go to the competition: directors, VIP consultants, CSCs, IACs and managers are all being actively recruited. Sad to hear what is going on.

As seems to be a holiday tradition, the senior management team is in the middle of finalizing the last round of layoffs in December in order to clean the financial books for 2013/2014 and make them more appealing to investors, since costs will now be lower.

This response was to "Truth be Told" comment who sees a different picture on just how great an employer Cartus is and has a blind sense of job security.
