Seems like "Layoffs 2012" is in fact unemployed and does not like the fact other people are employed at "Cartus" while he/she can't find a job... Stop trolling and putting down ones that are working for a living. Your posts are old.. "shining shoes???" HILARIOUS... keep accepting the unemployment that us working Americans provide you

What they did not tell you is that they offered many packages and retirements to incent people to leave "prior" to this layoff--during the month of August and earlier in September.... so that is why "The layoffs did not involve any retirement packages, a Cartus representative said."
Once again Cartus plays the numbers game to their advantage.
this is a just another mess from the mismanagement and sdhould take charges...more on www.propertyleo.com/blog

Cartus is like high school. The management is the bully, and the employee is the little kid who is bullied into doing the homework!

Well, year end has come and gone. No layoffs. Summer interns are back. Its been busy this year. Cartus is over 3,100 employees now up from just over 2,800 after the Primacy acquistion. Volume up. Hiring up. Service quality up. Must be doing something right to grow through an acquistion during a recession.

Whats the package you ask, quit and we will give you an extra 4-8 weeks pay depending on how many years you have worked at Cartus and then go find a job, good luck. Oh yes and i forgot to say if you don't take the package we will be firing a whole lot of you in the next couple of weeks.Down Down we go and no constructive thoughts from the management at all. Money talks and workers walk, nothing is going to change.

supposedly they're going to do the layoffs based of of performance, with tenure second. but it stands to reason that people without much tenure haven't had a lot of time to get up their numbers. the fiscal cliff is being blamed, clients not moving as many people, etc.

well, the "quota" didn't work in my favor. I was let go as of 2 fridays ago. I only had 10 months and co-worker had 10 years seniority. they had to let one of us go. guess my skin color didnt matter and it just went back to "last hired - first fired" dealings. guess it could've been worse. at least I got a little notice. I sympathize with anyone finding themselves in this situation. by the way, I was one of only TWO men of color employed in the whole office. also, all of the racist commentary is very disheartening. I don't really get that in this day in age. but oh well. have a good one.

It would appear that a relocation company that makes its money off of other people's backs doesn't really shock me when their ASSET RECOVERY so to speak department failed. Created by relocation people without a hint of asset recovery past, the heads are moving back to relocation, and the rest of the department's heads are rolling.

Beware of the tax that comes with the package. They will spend an hour having you sit with unemployment to learn about how to file which is a joke)but will fail to mention the different way a severence is taxed. Buyer Beware!!

I'm very close to accepting a role with Cartus in the UK but after reading all these comments I'm very worried about joining a company that doesnt sound really good at all. Please could a current and a former employee give me the absolute truth about what is like to work with this company in the UK, DO THEY LOOK AFTER AND CARE FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES? Do they look after and care about their clients? I thought as some of the management and directors have been there for yonks of years that the company was good? HELP!!! I NEED THE TRUTH BEFORE I JOIN

More management gone, more layoffs coming. Voluntary to start in both relocation and asset recovery. Lack of work is not a great sign with business going other places. Stunned empoyees are again brought into a room and asked to resign, even the management. A few looked shocked. Not sure why that was. A bad day for all. Again.

weather is finally turning warmer. that means a cold shower is waiting for bottom tier workers at cartus. suits been looking over numbers while pounding cocktails at rosies. basically if your name came up, you are out of a job next week. My advice if your a girl is to put out as fast as you can.

Rumours of losing big clients to smaller companies is everywhere, maybe instead of management hanging in the bar in plain sight they ought to spend energy on taking care of their remaining clients. If they worried less about their spreadsheets matching up then what the client is expecting they might be in a better place. This time of year other relocation companies are hiring. Time for anyone working there to start looking in the mirror and realizing that the company is short sided and not a long term bet
