I am a diehard NBC fan and I am "4 New York" as the catchy jingle goes in the commercial. I have grown up watching Sue Simmons on Live At 5 and I've always loved her. And I still do! She is funny, witty, intelligent, serious, professional. I believe that she truly thought they were off-air when she made her comment. I consider myself a fairly conservative person, but I realize that "things" (s***) happens. I am sure that she feels embarassed by her mistake and that she truly is sorry. I hope and pray that this will not tarnish her fabulous career of news reporting. It would be a grave loss to NBC if she were dismissed from her job. Sue- you are awesome! You & Chuck make a great team. I'm sorry I don't stay up late enough to see you both at 11pm but you and Michael G. are great as well (he's MUCH better than Perry). I forgive you and I look forward to many more years of watching you on NBC. Don't let this situation steal your smile (and smirk) or your humor. YOU ARE LOVED!! GOD BLESS YOU!!

so she cursed. everybody does, she just did that on camera. it's not as if news anchors are gods. kids learn the curse words outside their homes if their homes are curse free. everyone's got a kitty of curse words they use when they are not under camera scrutinies. get out on the street and every other word coming out of people is the f and s word.

There can be no room for this foul moth conduct on the airwaves. It is just plain offensive. If Ms Sue is not dismissed it affirms that NBC and GE are applying a double standard to her conduct.
Mistake or not, what is required is accountability for personal conduct.

Sue rules! I've been a fan since 3rd grade, when I would sit in my grandparents kitchen and watch her and Chuck. I'm now 33 years old, and both grandparents have since passed (and I live in Jersey, so careful there, Bob Darden!:-)). So... she said a "dirty word", and some are ready to vilify her? Oh yeah, some people are nuts! I almost forgot.
Ms. Lucci,(I'm assuming you're a woman), I'm sorry that your son has "sleeping problems". But, really? You're THAT MAD that Sue made a mistake?(Check today's NY papers-- she explained that she thought it was going to be a taped tease, she saw Chuck doodling on some paper and said what she said, figuring it was going to be edited) I'm sure you NEVER made a mistake, Lucci, EVER. You've never said something you thought wasn't going to be heard by anyone. You're so perfect! How can I be like you?

This is such a non-story. All you uptight parents need to chill out. Why are your kids watching tv at that hour anyway? Too lazy or stupid to read books with them? You self righeous parents are so annoying. You're the same ones who use every excuse to get out of work early or come in late because of some nonsense with your stupid kids. Sue Simmons doesn't even qualify as a "Talking Head" Her demonstrated lack of basic knowledge about the world, it's economy, its leadership is the reason that the NBC local new is so poorly thought of.(Ratings)
People will continue to "TUNE OUT" until Chuck and Ms Potty Mouth are gone. The real Sue was exposed.
Note to Sue: Its time to retire, you had a good run.
